Nitride‐Reinforced Metal Matrix Nanocomposite Powders Production by Plasma‐Assisted Thermochemical Treatment of Intermetallic Powders

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 5, 4 March 2026.
This study proposes a new methodology for producing metal matrix nanocomposites in the solid state. The process involves the plasma‐assisted thermochemical treatment of metallic alloy powders. As a proof‐of‐concept, TiN nanoparticles are synthesized directly on the surface of FeTi intermetallic powder particles, enabling the development of the ...

Experimental Evaluation of Turning AISI 304 Using Minimum Quantity Lubrication With Vegetable‐Based Green Cutting Fluids

open access: yesMetalMat, Volume 3, Issue 1, March 2026.
This study experimentally evaluates the performance of eco‐friendly vegetable‐based cutting fluids—coconut, sunflower, and palm oils—during turning of AISI 304 stainless steel under minimum quantity lubrication. Palm oil exhibited superior lubrication and cooling characteristics, yielding the lowest cutting force, temperature, and surface roughness ...

Investigation of Friction Welding Dissimilar AISI 304 and AISI 1040 Steels

open access: yesTürk Doğa ve Fen Dergisi
The temperature at the weld region increased in parallel with the friction time. Increasing the friction time ensured the formation of a stronger weld. The highest tensile stress and elongation value were seen in the S3 weld sample, which had the highest friction time.
