Single‐Pulse Nanomorphology Governs Laser‐Induced Periodic Surface Structure Formation on Metals
Ultrashort pulse ablation enables generation of self‐organized periodic structures, where evolving nanomorphology controls pulse‐to‐pulse feedback. In noble metals, nanospikes form after the first pulse and localize surface waves, preventing periodic field distributions and thus suppressing their formation.

Comprehension of chip formation in laser assisted machining [PDF]
Laser Assisted Machining (LAM) improves the machinability of materials by locally heating the workpiece just prior to cutting. Experimental investigations have confirmed that the cutting force can be decreased, by as much as 40%, for various materials ...

Direct Recycling of Cold Work Tool Steel Swarf into New Cutting Disks via Field‐Assisted Sintering
Through a sintering method known as field‐assisted sintering technology/spark plasma sintering, cold work tool steel swarf can be directly recycled into new cutting disks. This method is capable of densifying the unconventional powder morphology of swarf, and it can also seal grinding contaminants, such as Al2O3, into the steel matrix.

The pre‐internalization phase of endocytosis remains poorly characterized at single‐cell levels. Single‐cell pre‐internalization mechanics are investigated using advanced robotic techniques. Cancer cells exhibit biphasic adhesion – rapid initial binding followed by reinforcement – while fibroblasts show gradual engagement.

EuPdSn2: magnetic structures in view of resonant X‐ray Bragg diffraction
Structure factors informed by magnetic symmetry for resonant X‐ray diffraction by EuPdSn2 using Eu atomic resonances E1–E1 and E1–E2. Axial and polar (Dirac) electronic Eu multipoles are compulsory. The magnetic properties of materials hosting Eu2+ (J = 7/2, 4f7) ions have attracted much attention in the science of strongly correlated electrons. In part

Microstructural Evolution during DPRM Process of Semisolid Ledeburitic D2 Tool Steel
Semisolid metal processing is a relatively new technology that offers several advantages over liquid processing and solid processing because of the unique behaviour and characteristic microstructure of metals in this state.
