Accumulating evidence highlights a central, yet heterogeneous role for B cells in atherogenesis, with distinct subsets displaying opposing roles.

Summary Stomatal closure allows plants to conserve water by reducing transpiration during drought. Surprisingly, the assimilation of the macronutrient sulfur is intimately connected to the drought stress response. This Tansley insight will only briefly touch on the general impact of sulfate assimilation on the production of drought‐response metabolites.

ABSTRACT Diosgenin is a key starting material for the synthesis of steroidal drugs, such as corticosteroids and sex hormones. While the primary commercial source of diosgenin is the tubers of Dioscorea spp., identifying alternative plant hosts capable of diosgenin biosynthesis could enhance its production.

Endophytic Biostimulant Pyrroloquinoline Quinone Enhances Banana Growth and Primes Immunity Against Fusarium Wilt

ABSTRACT Pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) is a redox cofactor derived from prokaryotes that participates in various biological processes involving dehydrogenase enzymes. Previous field trials identified a PQQ‐producing endophyte, Burkholderia seminalis 869T2, which enhances banana growth and reduces Fusarium wilt incidence from 24.5% to 3.4%.
