Ether formation through reductive coupling of ketones or aldehydes catalyzed by a mesoionic carbene iridium complex

open access: yes, 2017
A promiscuous triazolylidene iridium complex efficiently catalyses the etherification of ketones and aldehydes and also promotes deoxygenation and hydrosilylation.

A Brain‐Wide Atlas of Astrocytic Oxytocin Receptors Reveals a Glial Basis for Nucleus Accumbens Modulation of Affiliative Behavior

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The cellular actors of oxytocin signaling are under intense scrutiny. A brain‐wide anatomical and functional analysis in mice and rats reveals widespread expression of oxytocin receptors in astrocytes. These receptors are functionally active and, in the nucleus accumbens, selectively regulate male social affiliation.

A gas-phase “top-down” chemical link between aldehydes and alcohols

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences
IntroductionAlcohols and aldehydes represent two key classes of interstellar complex organic molecules (COMs). This work seeks to better understand their possible chemical connections, with a focus on such molecules in the sources of the star-forming ...

Dual‐Responsive Dynamic Covalent Bond‐Based Assembly of Lipid‐Nanozyme Systems via Multi‐Target Synergy and Efficient Target Enrichment for Ischemic Stroke Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This system adopts a biomimetic phospholipid structure, covalently binding iNOS inhibitors, neuroprotective agent PCA and vitamin E derivatives through pH/ROS dual‐responsive bonds, and assembles them with Prussian blue nanozyme to form PBB@AHA. It can efficiently penetrate the blood‐brain barrier and simultaneously release multiple active components ...

N‐Geranylated Amino Acid Surfactants with Low Critical Micelle Concentrations from Abundant, Naturally Derived Starting Materials

open access: yesChemistryOpen
In this work, a simple method for the preparation of N‐alkylated amino acid surfactants in 1–2 steps is reported. These products perform comparably to existing ionic surfactants, with N‐tetrahydrogeranylated serine having a critical micelle concentration

Amphoteric α-Boryl Aldehydes

open access: yes, 2016
A new class of stable molecules, α-boryl aldehydes, has been prepared from oxiranyl N-methyliminodiacetyl boronates by a 1,2-boryl migration with concomitant epoxide scission.

Recent Advances in Laser‐Induced Graphene‐Based Gas Sensors: From Sensing Mechanisms to Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Laser‐induced graphene (LIG) provides a scalable, laser‐direct‐written route to porous graphene architecture with tunable chemistry and defect density. Through heterojunction engineering, catalytic functionalization, and intrinsic self‐heating, LIG achieves highly sensitive and selective detection of NOX, NH3, H2, and humidity, supporting next ...
