Electrochemical Carbon Dioxide Reduction to Methanol on Copper‐Based Catalysts: Mechanistic Insights and Industrial Prospects

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review presents a focused and integrated perspective on copper‐based catalysts for the selective electrochemical reduction of CO2 to methanol. It elucidates active site dynamics, mechanistic pathways, and structure–activity relationships, while connecting fundamental insights with catalyst design, reactor engineering, and techno‐economic ...

Functionalized hyperbranched polymers via olefin metathesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Hyperbranched polymers are highly branched, three-dimensional macromolecules which are closely related to dendrimers and are typically prepared via a one-pot polycondensation of AB_(n≥2) monomers.^1 Although hyperbranched macromolecules lack the ...

In Situ Amine Formation to Modulate MOF‐Derived PdIn N‐Doped Carbon Catalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An amine‐assisted approach converts PdIn‐MOF into PdIn intermetallic nanoparticles embedded in N‐doped carbon. In situ‐generated amines trigger early Pd nucleation, producing smaller PdIn domains than direct pyrolysis. Amine sterics and basicity tune composition and particle size, while solvent and amine co‐determine textural features.

Advanced Porous Materials for Maritime Carbon Capture

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Carbon capture from emission sources, such as marine vessels, has attracted significant attention over the years. To achieve this goal, sorbents such as metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), porous polymer networks (PPNs), covalent organic frameworks (COFs), and their post‐synthetic modifications are currently being explored.

The effect of host structure on the selectivity and mechanism of supramolecular catalysis of Prins cyclizations. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The effect of host structure on the selectivity and mechanism of intramolecular Prins reactions is evaluated using K12Ga4L6 tetrahedral catalysts. The host structure was varied by modifying the structure of the chelating moieties and the size of the ...

Operando X‐ray Spectroscopy Study of Pd and Pd–Au Laterally Condensed Catalysts during Selective Acetylene Hydrogenation: The Role of Carbon

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The selective hydrogenation of acetylene over laterally condensed Pd and Pd–Au catalysts (LCCs) was investigated using operando X‐ray absorption and photoelectron spectroscopy in combination with density functional theory. Pd‐LCCs were found to incorporate significantly more carbon into the metal lattice than Pd–Au LCCs, where the carbon uptake governs

Photochemical Approaches to Complex Chemotypes: Applications in Natural Product Synthesis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The use of photochemical transformations is a powerful strategy that allows for the formation of a high degree of molecular complexity from relatively simple building blocks in a single step. A central feature of all light-promoted transformations is the

Engineering Free Volume within Frontal Ring‐Opening Metathesis Polymerization via Pendant Plasticization

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Norbornene‐based copolymers with tunable n‐alkyl pendant length provide control over matrix free volume, enabling elastomeric materials via frontal ring‐opening metathesis polymerization (FROMP). ABSTRACT Frontal ring‐opening metathesis polymerization (FROMP) enables rapid, energy‐efficient access to high‐performance thermosets and thermoplastics, but ...
