Formation of Bicyclic Skeletons by Aerobic, Manganese‐Mediated Cyclization of β‐Oxoesters
Manganese(III) promotes aerobic radical cyclization reactions of β‐oxoesters with an ω‐alkenyl side chain at the β’‐position to give bicyclic products with a 1,4‐dicarbonyl structure. Bicyclic perhydro‐pentalene, ‐indene, and ‐azulene, as well as decaline skeletons were accessed by aerobic manganese(III)‐mediated radical cyclizations of cyclic β ...

Stereoselective Construction of Benzo‐Fused Tetrahydropyrrole Thiazines From Saccharin
Saccharin was used as a template to construct a series of 10a‐substituted, benzo‐fused, pyrrolo thiazinone dioxides. Thereafter, diastereo‐divergent 10‐keto reduction gave either diastereomeric alcohol in a process that did not rely on the substituent at 10a's identity.

Diastereoselective Synthesis of Highly Substituted Methylene Cyclobutanes by Pd Catalysis
A chemo‐ and diastereoselective palladium‐catalyzed intramolecular coupling/cyclization of borylated 1,5‐dienes, readily accessible by allene allylboration, with iodoarenes enables the synthesis of highly substituted methylene cyclobutanes. The method exhibits broad scope, high functional group tolerance, and complete enantiospecificity.

This Concept highlights recent advances in organic synthesis based on electron donor–acceptor (EDA) complex photochemistry, with emphasis on halogen bonding. Halides play a dual role as key components of this noncovalent interaction, and as reactivity‐enabling leaving groups.

Retro‐Hetero‐Michael Addition Strategies in Organic Synthesis
In this review, synthetic approaches to carbo‐ and heterocyclic compounds, including natural products, published in the last 15 years (2011–2025) which have either relied upon or included a retro‐hetero‐Michael addition step at any stage are discussed.

A new dual‐ligand rhodium catalytic system based on [RhCl(cod)]2, BINAP or BIPHEP, and a diphosphoramidite ligand enables the hydroformylation of olefins using paraformaldehyde as a syngas surrogate. The system efficiently converts vinyl arenes, alkyl olefins, cyclopentene, and allyl acetate with high activity and regioselectivity.
