GAS-PHASE THERMOLYSIS OF SULFUR COMPOUNDS. PART V. METHYL ALLYL, DIALLYL AND BENZYL ALLYL SULFIDES

Phosphorus and Sulfur and the Related Elements, 1982
Abstract The title compounds have been pyrolyzed in a stirred-flow system, at temperatures within the range 315–418°C and pressures between 2 and 15 torr. Under these conditions, the products observed were propene and the polymers of thiomethanal, allyl thioaldehyde and benzyl thioaldehyde.

Pulsed Laser Copolymerization of Ring-Opening Cyclic Allylic Sulfide Monomers with Methyl Methacrylate and Styrene

Macromolecules, 2002
Two cyclic allylic sulfide monomers, 6-methylene-2-methyl-1,4-dithiacycloheptane (MDTP) and 7-methylene-2-methyl-1,5-dithiacyclooctane (MDTO), were copolymerized with methyl methacrylate (MMA) using the pulsed laser polymerization technique. MDTO was also copolymerized with styrene (STY) under the same conditions.

Mechanisms of the preventive properties of some garlic components in the carbon tetrachloride-promoted oxidative stress. Diallyl sulfide; diallyl disulfide; allyl mercaptan and allyl methyl sulfide.

Research communications in molecular pathology and pharmacology, 1999
Previous studies evidenced that garlic extracts and/or garlic components were able to prevent against chemically induced tumors or acute toxic effects of chemicals (e.g. CCl4 induced liver injury). The chemopreventive potential of garlic has been attributed to the presence in it of several bioactive organosulfur compounds. Those components might act as

Inhibition by Allyl Sulfides and Phenethyl Isothiocyanate of Methyl-n-pentylnitrosamine Depentylation by Rat Esophageal Microsomes, Human and Rat CYP2E1, and Rat CYP2A3

Nutrition and Cancer, 2004
Garlic and Cruciferae are associated with reduced risks of several human cancers, and some of their constituents are anticarcinogenic in animals. Here we studied inhibition of in vitro metabolism of the rat esophageal carcinogen methyl-n-pentylnitrosamine (MPN) by garlic-derived allyl sulfides and by Cruciferae-derived phenethyl isothiocyanate (PEITC ...

Aluminum-chloride catalyzed reaction of allylic sulfides with methyl propiolate: A novel addition reaction via an ionic [3.3] sigmatropic rearrangement

Tetrahedron Letters, 1982
Abstract The aluminum-chloride catalyzed reaction of allylic sulfides with methyl propiolate resulted in the clean formation of novel 1:1 adducts via ionic [3.3] sigmatropic rearrangements.

Photooxidation Reactions of Allyl Methyl Sulfide Initiated by OH Radicals and Cl Atoms in the Troposphere

The Journal of Physical Chemistry A
The sulfur-containing volatile organic compounds (VOSCs) have a pronounced potential to impact the atmosphere. Hence, studying their photooxidation reactions with tropospheric oxidants has substantial relevance. Allyl methyl sulfide (AMS), which falls under this category, is found to be released from various sources.
