AlN/GaN-based MOS-HEMT technology: processing and device results [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Process development of AlN/GaN MOS-HEMTs is presented, along with issues and problems concerning the fabrication processes. The developed technology uses thermally grown Al2O3 as a gate dielectric and surface

Effect of AlN seed layer on crystallographic characterization of piezoelectric AlN [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Vacuum Science & Technology A: Vacuum, Surfaces, and Films, 2019
Ultrathin aluminum nitride (AlN) films are of great interest for integration into nanoelectromechanical systems for actuation and sensing. Given the direct relationship between crystallographic texture and piezoelectric (PZE) response, x-ray diffraction has become an important metrology step.

Advanced Separators for Liquid and Quasi‐Solid Lithium Rechargeable Batteries: Design and Development

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review traces the evolution of lithium‐ion battery separators from passive barriers to multifunctional components central to cell safety and performance. Polymer‐ceramic hybrids, nanofiber architectures, and bio‐derived membranes deliver ionic conductivities above 3 mS cm−1, thermal stability beyond 200 °C, and effective suppression of lithium ...

Investigation of Structural, Mechanical and Electrochemical Properties of Temperature‐Dependent Dual AlN/TiAlN Coating Synthesized by CVD Process

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study investigates thermally CVD‐deposited AlN/TiAlN dual‐layer coatings over a Si substrate, focusing on the temperature‐dependent process‐structure relationship. Systematic characterization reveals that a dense AlN interlayer combined with an optimally deposited TiAlN top layer provides enhancement in mechanical strength, tribological stability,

Breast tumor diagnosis in digital mammograms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Breast cancer has been classified as the most common cancer in most part of the world [1]. Breast cancer is caused by the growth of the abnormal cells in the breast. Breast cancer not only develops in women but also on men.

Direct Mode‐Resolved Measurement of Interfacial Phonon Transport by Acoustic Phonon Reflectometry

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
We introduce a novel analysis, acoustic phonon reflectometry, that measures the mode‐resolved phonon reflection coefficient at semiconductor interfaces. In aluminum nitride, we observe excellent agreement with the acoustic mismatch model across three distinct interfaces.

Government Intervention Strategy in Poverty Reduction

open access: yesJurnal Bina Praja
Poverty remains a significant challenge in Indonesia, with a national rate of around 9.36% in 2023 and 16 provinces exceeding this poverty level. This study aims to analyze poverty patterns across districts and cities by using K-Means Clustering and ...

Polarization fields in GaN/AlN nanowire heterostructures studied by Off axis holography [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this work, we present an off-axis holography study of GaN/AlN heterostructured nanowires grown by plasma-assisted molecular-beam epitaxy. We discuss the sample preparation of nanowire samples for electron holography and combine potential profiles ...

Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

Cavity piezooptomechanics: piezoelectrically excited, optically transduced optomechanical resonators

open access: yes, 2013
We present a monolithic integrated aluminum nitride (AlN) optomechanical resonator in which the mechanical motion is actuated by piezoelectric force and the displacement is transduced by a high-Q optical cavity.
