Journal of Applied Toxicology, 1992AbstractAcetaminophen undergoes toxic conversion in the liver to a free‐radical intermediary which binds to glutathione. N‐Acetylcysteine acts as a glutathione precursor when natural stores are depleted, and is an effective antidote for acetaminophen overdose.

[Toxicity of alpha-amanitin on mice in vivo].

Medical science edition, 2010To study the toxic effect of alpha-amanitin from Amanita fungi on mice in vivo.The LD50 of alpha-amanitin was determined with intravenous and intraperitoneal injections of alpha-amanitin. The mice were then injected intravenously with LD50 dose of alpha-amanitin, and the viscera index was evaluated.

Hemoperfusion with alpha-amanitin: an in vitro study.
The International journal of artificial organs, 1997The authors carried out sixteen hemoperfusions with alpha-amanitin in vitro in a closed system using active charcoal, Amberlite XAD-2 and Amberlite XAD-4 in hemoperfusion capsules. As a perfusion solution 4 liters of 0.9% NaCl solution was used. The alpha-amanitin concentration in the solution was 8.3 +/- 0.36 mg/L.
