The ALS‐associated E425K mutation uncouples DNAJC7 from the Hsp70 chaperone cycle

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
DNAJC7 is a J‐domain protein that plays a key role in protein quality control by regulating Hsp70 activity and preventing protein aggregation. We find that the ALS‐associated E425K mutation in DNAJC7 disrupts productive interaction and activation of Hsp70, thereby blocking the transfer and refolding of client proteins such as TDP‐43.

Exosome Proteomics of SOD1D90A Mutation Suggest Early Disease Mechanisms, and FN1 as a Biomarker

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, Volume 13, Issue 1, Page 131-143, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a neuromuscular disease. Super oxide dismutase 1 (SOD1) gene mutations cause ALS, and the D90A mutation is associated with primarily upper motor neuron (UMN) loss. Objective Our goal is to reveal the early cellular events in ALS pathology and identify potential pharmacokinetic biomarkers, using well ...

Stress granules regulate paraspeckles: RNP granule continuum at work

open access: yesCell Stress, 2019
Eukaryotic cells contain several types of RNA-protein membraneless macro-complexes – ribonucleoprotein (RNP) granules that form by liquid-liquid phase separation.

TIA1 Mutations in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and Frontotemporal Dementia Promote Phase Separation and Alter Stress Granule Dynamics. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and frontotemporal dementia (FTD) are age-related neurodegenerative disorders with shared genetic etiologies and overlapping clinical and pathological features. Here we studied a novel ALS/FTD family and identified the

in the past, the main purpose of IAIN was "simply" as a missionary institution, responsible for the dissemination of the Islamic religion throughout the community. However, as it developed, besides remaining as an institute for propagating missionary works, IAIN has also played an increasingly bigger role as an academic institution in the arena of ...

Altered Inflammatory Signature in a C9ORF72 ‐ALS iPSC‐Derived Motor Neuron and Microglia Coculture Model

open access: yesGlia, Volume 74, Issue 1, January 2026.
Established a C9ORF72 ALS microglia and motor neuron coculture model. Identified an altered inflammatory signature in C9ORF72 ALS microglia. Single‐cell RNA sequencing detected the removal of an LPS responsive microglia subpopulation. ABSTRACT Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a complex neurodegenerative disorder involving multiple cell types in ...
