Proteomic and Transcriptomic Signatures of Poor Asthma Symptom Control in the U‐BIOPRED Cohort

No stable features were identified as associated with asthma symptom control in transcriptomics or sputum proteomics. Higher TWEAKR/TNFRSF12A and MBL/MBP‐C serum levels increased the odds of uncontrolled symptoms, while higher MK08/MAPK8 and CD5L serum levels decreased the odds, after adjustment for clinical variables.

Transcriptome-wide N6-methyladenosine modification and microRNA jointly regulate the infection of avian leukosis virus subgroup J in vitro

: N6-methyladenosine (m6A) methylation in transcripts has been suggested to influence tumorigenesis in liver tumors caused by the avian leukosis virus subgroup J (ALV-J). However, m6A modifications during ALV-J infection in vitro remain unclear.

Abstract The Amazonian loricariid fish Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps, from the Rio Negro, and Pterygoplichthys pardalis, from the Rio Solimões, are facultative air‐breathers that can use the stomach as an air‐breathing organ. Measurement of oxygen uptake under progressive aquatic hypoxia revealed a relatively high hypoxia resistance of both species.

Nitrogen excretion and oxygen consumption under severe hypoxia in siluriform fishes from the Amazon

Abstract Siluriform fishes collected from the Rio Negro and Rio Solimões proved to be highly resistant to aquatic hypoxia. In all four species analysed in this study, aquatic oxygen consumption significantly decreased from normoxic levels at water PO2 values near 1 kPa. Air‐breathing activity was observed only in Sturisoma sp. (Rio Negro).
