TREM2 promotes lung fibrosis via controlling alveolar macrophage survival and pro-fibrotic activity
Lung macrophages play a pivotal role in pulmonary fibrosis, with monocyte-derived alveolar macrophages driving disease progression. However, the mechanisms regulating their pro-fibrotic behavior and survival remain unclear, and effective therapeutic ...

As a novel adipose‐derived neurotrophic factor, Follistatin‐like 1 is endocytosed by sympathetic neurons primarily via tropomyosin‐related kinase B. This process promotes sympathetic innervation in adipose tissue and norepinephrine release, leading to white adipose tissue browning, enhanced thermogenesis, and anti‐obesity effects in mice.

New formyl-peptides, as stimulator of non-specific organism resistance against mycobacteria
Introduction. The key element in the formation of tuberculosis infection (TI) is the inability of alveolar macrophage to complete phagocytosis of mycobacteria absorbed by them, that caused by both features of the pathogens biology and the tissue ...

Guided by pharmacophore modeling and molecular docking, aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR)‐responsive carbon dots were synthesized. They bind directly to AHR and expand gut‐resident regulatory T (Treg) cells. Treg‐derived C‐C motif chemokine ligand 1 (CCL1) enhances macrophage efferocytosis, creating a pro‐regenetative niche that promotes colonic mucosal ...

Restricted replication of respiratory syncytial virus in human alveolar macrophages
The cellular factors that regulate infection and replication of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in human alveolar macrophages were examined. RSV-exposed alveolar macrophages demonstrated a time-dependent expression of viral glycoproteins, maximal by 24

Ox‐mtDNA fragments escaping from mitochondria drive robust inflammatory responses. A targeted nanoplatform simultaneously inhibits mitochondrial FEN1‐mediated mtDNA cleavage and scavenges ROS, preventing the generation of immunogenic Ox‐mtDNA fragments. The released SeNPs further promote autophagic clearance of cytosolic mtDNA. Consequently, cGAS‐STING,
