Integrated genomic and transcriptomic approaches reveal oxidative stress adaptation mechanisms in a mesotrione‐resistant Amaranthus tuberculatus biotype

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 7, Page 6387-6398, July 2026.
Integrated GWAS and transcriptomics in a Canadian waterhemp biotype reveal mesotrione resistance is polygenic and metabolically driven. Significant SNPs and 187 herbicide‐responsive genes point to enhanced redox homeostasis, glutathione‐linked detoxification, lipid/secondary metabolism, and oxidative stress responses. Resistance arises from coordinated,

THE EFFECT OF AMARANTH SEEDS ON THE CHEMICAL, MICROBIOLOGICAL AND SENSORY QUALITY OF YOGURT

open access: yesScientific Study & Research: Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Food Industry
The objective of this study was to investigate the chemical, microbiological, and sensory characteristics of yogurt enriched with amaranth seeds, stored at a temperature range of 5 ± 1 °C for 21 days. The quantity of amaranth incorporated into the yogurt

Studies on Application of Amaranthus Grain in Agricultural Distilleries Using Pressureless Liberation Of Starch (Pls) Technology.

open access: yesKvasný průmysl, 2002
The studies on the usability of amaranth grains for the spirit production allow us to state that it is a suitable raw material for agricultural distilleries, especially for technology of pressureless liberation of starch.

Fendioxypyracil, a new and systemic PPO‐inhibiting herbicide for X‐spectrum weed control

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 7, Page 6794-6807, July 2026.
This graphical abstract presents the discovery and synthesis of PPO herbicide structures with a central pyridine core, showing molecular conformations, dose–response inhibition curves for PPO1 and PPO2, and comparative weed and grass control efficacy of fendioxypyracil versus other herbicides in greenhouse and field trials.

Texture Engineering of Nondairy Yogurt Alternatives: Ingredient Selection, Processing Strategies, and the Role of In Situ Dextrans

open access: yesComprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety, Volume 25, Issue 4, July 2026.
ABSTRACT A global shift from diets rich in animal‐based products toward plant‐based diets has been widely promoted as a key strategy for creating more sustainable food systems. However, the adoption of plant‐based alternatives depends on multiple factors, including consumer preferences, sensory quality, product affordability, and availability, in ...

Toward the Utilization of Char from the Hydrothermal Liquefaction of Polyethylene Plastic Waste: Studies of the Adsorption of Rhodamine B in an Aqueous Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, Volume 10, Issue 6, June 2026.
Hydrothermal liquefaction of waste polyethylene produces char that effectively removes rhodamine B from water. Nearly complete dye adsorption is achieved under optimum conditions, with adsorption following Langmuir isotherm and pseudo‐first‐order kinetics.

A dual tank precision sprayer to overcome antagonism of mixing dicamba and clethodim for control of volunteer corn in soybean

open access: yesAgricultural &Environmental Letters, Volume 11, Issue 1, June 2026.
Abstract The mixing of clethodim and dicamba in the same tank could lead to reduced grass weed control, suggesting antagonism. Recently commercialized precision dual tank sprayers can apply two herbicides simultaneously through different boom systems, which may reduce potential herbicide antagonism for effective grass weed control.

Techno-Functional and Nutraceutical Assessment of Unprocessed and Germinated Amaranth Flours and Hydrolysates: Impact of the Reduction of Hydrolysis Time

open access: yesFoods
Amaranth is a nutritional and naturally gluten-free pseudocereal with several food applications. The germination and pepsin/pancreatin hydrolysis in amaranth releases antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds but the hydrolysis times (270 or 360 min ...
