Rational Design of Optical Single‐Walled Carbon Nanotube‐Based Nanosensors with Biological Recognition Elements

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, EarlyView.
This Review focuses on assessing and providing perspective on the field of rationally‐designed optical sensors constructed with single‐walled carbon nanotubes. The literature is reviewed and evaluated for SWCNT‐based sensors constructed with biomolecular recognition elements, including proteins, peptides, and oligonucleotides, as well as their methods ...

Smart REASSURED Sensors via Machine‐Augmented Printable On‐Paper Arrays

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights the emerging role of pattern‐recognition, printable on‐paper sensor arrays for intelligent PoC diagnostics. It discusses how paper's inherent limitations can be overcome through surface modification and scalable printing, and how machine‐learning analysis of cross‐reactive arrays enables multiplexed, low‐cost, and REASSURED ...

Protein Language Model‐Guided Engineering of a 2,3‐Butanediol Dehydrogenase for the Enantioselective Synthesis of Cyclic α‐Hydroxy Ketones

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A (2R,3R)‐butanediol dehydrogenase from Bacillus subtilis (BsBDH) is engineered for the enantioselective synthesis of 2‐hydroxycyclohexanone. A PASS computational design strategy is proposed to enhance the thermostability of BsBDH. Moreover, ESM‐1v combined with ISM is utilized for enhancing and inverting its stereoselectivity.

Smoking-induced long-lasting modifications of human platelet serotonin catabolism through a MAO epigenetic regulation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Postulating that serotonin, secreted from smoking-activated platelets, could be involved in smoking-induced vascular modifications, we studied 115 men distributed in smokers (S), former smokers (FS) and never smokers (NS).

Dangling and hydrolyzed ligand arms in [Mn3] and [Mn6] coordination assemblies: synthesis, characterization, and functional activity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Two flexible, branched, and sterically constrained di- and tripodal side arms around a phenol backbone were utilized in ligands H3L1 and H5L2 to isolate {Mn6} and {Mn3} coordination aggregates.

Engineering Dimensional Configuration of Single‐Atom S‐Cu‐S Sites as Reversible Electron Station for Enhanced Peroxidase‐Mimicking

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
L‐cysteine triggers auto‐assembly of POD‐like 3D biomimetic S‐Cu‐S single‐atom nanozymes on MoS2 (MoCC). MoCC shows 16.3‐fold higher catalytic velocity and 17.9‐fold greater affinity than HRP, enabling efficient •OH generation via enhanced electron inversion and transfer.

Potential role of NADPH-oxidase in early steps of lead-induced oxidative burst in Vicia faba roots [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The mechanism of oxidative burst induced by lead in Vicia faba excised roots was investigated by luminol-dependent chemiluminescence. Results showed that lead triggered a rapid and dose-dependent increase in chemiluminescence production.

Development of Endogenous Protein Probes for Characterizing Surface Proteins and Cellular Interactors of Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The proximity labeling enzyme APEX2 is displayed on extracellular vesicle (EV) surfaces via genetic fusion with EV‐sorting scaffolds, enabling in situ biotinylation of native surface proteins, adsorbed corona components, and interacting cellular proteins.
