Alkylamino Derivatives of 4-Aminomethylpyridine as Inhibitors of Copper-Containing Amine Oxidases
The first substratelike, reversible inhibitors of different copper amine oxidases (CAOs) with IC50 (M) as low as 2.0 x 10(-8) corresponding to derivatives of 4-aminomethylpyridine with alkoxy (1a-d), alkylthio (2a,b), and alkylamino (3a-e, 4a-j) groups in the positions 3 and 5 have been prepared and studied.

CsCuAOs and CsAMADH1 Are Required for Putrescine-Derived γ-Aminobutyric Acid Accumulation in Tea
Polyamines are a potential source of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in plants under abiotic stress. However, studies on GABA enrichment in tea mostly focus on the GABA shunt, while the correlation between polyamine degradation and GABA formation in tea is ...

Laccases from lactic acid bacteria show cuprous oxidase activity and capture Cu(II) and Ag(I) ions. [PDF]
Abstract Several laccases derived from lactic acid bacteria (LAB) display specific structural features, such as two methionine residues at the entrance of the T1Cu center, and an extended C‐terminal end enriched in methionine and histidine. To investigate their functional roles, we engineered mutant variants of the laccase Pp4816 from Pediococcus ...

Time-Series Structural Studies of Topaquinone Biogenesis in Copper Containing Amine Oxidase
Copper-containing amine oxidase contains a covalently bound organic cofactor, 2, 4, 5-trihydroxyphenylalanine (topa) quinone, which is formed by post-translational modification of a specific tyrosine residue in the presence of copper ion and oxygen molecule. Apo-enzyme crystals were anaerobically soaked in the mother liquor that contains copper ion and
