Design, Synthesis, and Biological Evaluation of Chiral Urea and Thiourea Derivatives as Multitarget‐Directed Anti‐Alzheimer Agents

open access: yesDrug Development Research, Volume 87, Issue 5, August 2026.
ABSTRACT A series of novel chiral urea and thiourea compounds were designed as multitarget‐directed ligands for Alzheimer's disease and evaluated against hAChE, hBChE, and hMAO‐B, with exploratory assessment of HSD10. These chiral compounds were synthesized and fully characterized, and their enantiopurity was confirmed via HPLC.

A Mononuclear Scenario for the Copper‐Catalyzed Monooxygenation of Phenolic Substrates

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 27, 17 July 2026.
ABSTRACT Whereas a dinuclear pathway applies to the monooxygenation of phenols by the type 3 copper enzyme tyrosinase, a mononuclear pathway has been identified for the same reaction in corresponding small‐molecule systems. DFT calculations of five copper model complexes reveal that the latter mechanism is energetically feasible, identifying all ...

TFAP2A promotes NSCLC malignant progression by enhancing AOC1 transcription

open access: yesHereditas
Background Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has high mortality, and patients show variable outcomes and drug responses. Amine oxidase copper-containing 1 (AOC1) is considered an oncogene in many types of tumors. Transcription factor AP-2 alpha (TFAP2A)
