Performance of d-amino acid oxidase in presence of ionic liquids

Journal of Biotechnology, 2006
The activity and stability of free and immobilized D-amino acid oxidase (DAAO, EC 1.4.3.3) from Trigonopsis variabilis CBS 4095 in different water-soluble and water-insoluble ionic liquids (ILs) as well as in organic solvents were studied for comparison. The most promising ILs ([BMIM][BF(4)] and [MMIM][MMPO(4)]) were investigated in detail. The kinetic

Tetraalkylammonium amino acids as functionalized ionic liquids of low viscosity

Chem. Commun., 2008
Four of nine tetraalkylammonium-based amino-acid ionic liquids prepared in this work show lower viscosities than all amino acid-based ionic liquids found in the literature and their reversible CO(2) absorption approaches 0.5 mol per mol ionic liquid.

Capturing the Polarization Effect in Amino Acid Ionic Liquids

The Journal of Physical Chemistry B
Amino acid ionic liquids (AAILs) have emerged as promising candidates for green chemistry applications due to their biocompatibility, biodegradability, and functional versatility. In this study, we develop and test polarizable force fields (FFs) with Drude oscillators (Drude) for AAILs, specifically [Cho][Ala], [Cho][Gly], [Cho][Pro], and [Cho][Ser ...

Straightforward glycosylation of alcohols and amino acids mediated by ionic liquid

Carbohydrate Research, 2012
Green glycosylation of functionalized alcohols and α-amino acids, using an ionic liquid as a recyclable solvent, was performed in one step directly from the unprotected monosaccharide under scandium triflate or ferric chloride catalysis. Pure α- and β-glycosides could be obtained after specific enzymatic hydrolysis.

On the Interactions between Amino Acids and Ionic Liquids in Aqueous Media

The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2009
The understanding of the molecular-level interactions between biomolecules and ionic liquids (ILs) in aqueous media is crucial for the optimization of a number of relevant biotechnological processes. In this work, the influence of a series of amino acids on the liquid-liquid equilibria between 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tricyanomethane and water was ...

Synthesis of Chiral Ionic Liquids from Natural Amino Acids

The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2002
For the first time, chiral imidazolium ionic liquids containing one chiral carbon (10a-c) were synthesized from the natural amino acids by a simple and straightforward procedure. The characteristics of the chiral ILs are very similar to the popular ionic liquids.
