Novel amino acids based ionic liquids analogues: Acidic and basic amino acids

Journal of the Taiwan Institute of Chemical Engineers, 2016
Abstract Deep eutectic solvents (DES) are one of the immerging promising industrial green solvents that are gaining considerable attention. These novel liquids have been synthesized from a variety of quaternary ammonium and phosphonium salts in combination with one or more complexing agents.

Quantification of amino acid ionic liquids using liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry

Journal of Chromatography A, 2008
Amino acid ionic liquids (AAILs) containing imidazolium cations and amino acid (AA) anions, were synthesized and applied as task-specific ionic liquids. A sensitive and fast liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) method was established for the quantitative analysis of 20 AAILs.

Partitioning of acidic, basic and neutral amino acids into imidazolium-based ionic liquids

Amino Acids, 2009
In this paper, partitioning behaviors of typical neutral (Alanine), acidic (Glutamic acid) and basic (Lysine) amino acids into imidazolium-based ionic liquids [C(4)mim][PF(6)], [C(6)mim][PF(6)], [C(8)mim][PF(6)], [C(6)mim][BF(4)] and [C(8)mim][BF(4)] as extracting solvents were examined.

The effect of anion on aggregation of amino acid ionic liquid: Atomistic simulation

Journal of Molecular Graphics and Modelling, 2020
Aggregation behavior of dodecyl betaine chloride [DB][Cl], as an amino acid ionic liquid, and dodecyl betaine N-acetyl glycinate [DB][AG], as a bio ionic liquid, in aqueous media was studied through molecular dynamics simulation. The aggregating was investigated by radial distribution function, coordination numbers, and hydrogen bond numbers.

Hydrophobic and low-density amino acid ionic liquids

Journal of Molecular Liquids, 2010
Abstract A series of tetraalkylphosphonium amino acid salts was synthesized to determine the effect of ion structure, in particular the length of alkyl chains, on physico-chemical properties such as density, viscosity, glass transition temperature, and decomposition temperature.

Theoretical Calculation of the Thermodynamic Properties of 20 Amino Acid Ionic Liquids

The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2018
The thermodynamic properties of gas-phase amino acid ionic liquids (AAILs) containing 20 amino acids ([AA]-) and 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium ([Emim]+) are studied using a combination of the ab initio method, molecular dynamics simulations, Born-Haber (BH) cycle analysis, and isodesmic reactions.

Room Temperature Ionic Liquids from 20 Natural Amino Acids

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2005
We first succeeded in synthesizing ionic liquids from 20 natural amino acids. Amino acid ionic liquids dissolved native amino acids, despite water-free conditions. Furthermore, these ionic liquids are soluble in various organic solvents, such as chloroform.

Aggregation Behavior of Amino Acid Ionic Liquid Surfactants in Aqueous Media

The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2011
Self-aggregation of amino acid ionic liquid surfactants (AAILSs) in aqueous solution has been investigated through surface tension, conductivity, steady-state fluorescence, dynamic light scattering (DLS), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The critical aggregation concentration (cac) of AAILSs obtained from different techniques showed fairly ...
