The Concise Guide to PHARMACOLOGY 2023/24: Enzymes
The Concise Guide to PHARMACOLOGY 2023/24 is the sixth in this series of biennial publications. The Concise Guide provides concise overviews, mostly in tabular format, of the key properties of approximately 1800 drug targets, and about 6000 interactions with about 3900 ligands.

THE CONCISE GUIDE TO PHARMACOLOGY 2021/22: Enzymes
The Concise Guide to PHARMACOLOGY 2021/22 is the fifth in this series of biennial publications. The Concise Guide provides concise overviews, mostly in tabular format, of the key properties of nearly 1900 human drug targets with an emphasis on selective pharmacology (where available), plus links to the open access knowledgebase source of drug targets ...

Aminoacyltransferase Stimulation of Protein Synthesis by Pig Adrenal Polysomes [PDF]
ADMINISTRATION of adrenocorticotrophin in vivo increases the incorporation of 14C-glycine into protein by the supernatant of adrenal homogenates centrifuged at 15,000g1. A factor of the soluble cell fraction (105,000g supernatant) has been shown to be rate limiting for in vitro protein synthesis and its activity is doubled by ACTH administration in ...

A [3Fe-4S] cluster and tRNA-dependent aminoacyltransferase BlsK in the biosynthesis of Blasticidin S
Significance Transfer RNA (tRNA) transfer appropriately activated amino acids to the end of the growing peptide chain, playing significant roles in primary metabolism. Importantly, tRNA have also been shown to function outside of translation.

Bile salt hydrolase/aminoacyltransferase shapes the microbiome
Abstract Bile acids (BAs) are steroid detergents in bile that contribute to the absorption of fats and fat-soluble vitamins while shaping the gut microbiome due to their antimicrobial properties. Recently, a novel mechanism of BA metabolism by the gut microbiota was identified involving conjugation with various amino acids.

An Aminoacyltransferase Preparation from Beef Liver
Abstract An aminoacyltransferase preparation has been obtained from a beef liver homogenate, and a 44-fold purification of the activity has been achieved. The enzyme preparation catalyzes both peptide synthesis from suitable amino acid esters (e.g.

Purification of Aminoacyltransferase II (Translocation Factor) from Rat Liver
Abstract Aminoacyltransferase II is one of the two soluble protein factors required for polypeptide biosynthesis from aminoacyl transfer RNA with rat liver preparations. This transfer factor and guanosine triphosphate are required for the translocation of messenger RNA and peptidyl transfer RNA from the aminoacyl to the peptidyl site on ribosomes.

Aminoacyltransferase I-catalysed binding of phenylalanyl-transfer ribonucleic acid to muscle ribosomes from normal and diabetic rats [PDF]
The aminoacyltransferase I-catalysed binding of phenylalanyl-tRNA (unfractionated Escherichia coli B tRNA acylated with radioactive phenylalanine and 19 non-radioactive amino acids) to skeletal-muscle ribosomes from diabetic rats was less than that to ribosomes from normal rats when the Mg2+ concentration was low (7.5mm); whereas just the reverse was ...

Evidence for the Role of Aminoacyltransferase II in Peptidyl Transfer Ribonucleic Acid Translocation
Abstract When ribosomes are pretreated with transferase II and guanosine triphosphate, the binding of aminoacyl transfer ribonucleic acid to ribosomes in the presence of transferase I and the GTP analogue 5'-guanylyl methylenediphosphonate is markedly increased. Binding of aminoacyl-tRNA to ribosomes is also obtained in the absence of transferase I and
