Glucose ester derivatives of aminosalicylic acids*

open access: yesJournal of the American Pharmaceutical Association (Scientific ed.), 1955
Glucose esters of 4‐ and 5‐aminosalicylic acid were obtainable by reaction of the benzyloxynitrobenzoic acid chlorides with diacetone glucose, followed by catalytic hydrogenation of the nitro groups. Conversion of the amines to hydrochlorides removed one or both of the acetone groups from the glucose.

Reaction of 5-Aminosalicylic Acid with Peroxyl Radicals: Protection and Recovery by Ascorbic Acid and Amino Acids [PDF]

open access: yesPharmaceutical Research, 2005
Purpose. The aims of the study are to analyze the interaction between 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA) and peroxyl radicals and to evaluate the effect of some endogenous compounds such as ascorbic acid and amino acids on the oxidation of 5-ASA induced by 2 ...

A Comparative Study of the Oxidation of 3-, 4- and 5-Aminosalicylic Acids at Glassy Carbon Electrodes

open access: yesElectroanalysis, 1998
The oxidation behavior of 3-aminosalicylic acid (3-ASA), 4-aminosalicylic acid (4-ASA) and 5-aminosalicyclic acid (5-ASA), the active part of the drugs Sulphasalazine and Dipentum for the treatment of ulcerative colitis, has been compared.

Coordination modes of 3-aminosalicylic and 3-hydroxyanthranilic acids in palladium(II), platinum(II) and rhenium(V) complexes. The crystal structure of cis-[Pt(HsalNH)(PPh3)2]·0.25C2H5OH

open access: yesPolyhedron, 2006
New Pd(II), Pt(II) and Re(V) complexes of 3-aminosalicylic acid (H(2)salNH(2)) and 3-hydroxyantranilic acid (HantOH) have been prepared, cis-[Pt (HsalNH)(PPh3)(2)] center dot 0.25C(2)H(5)OH (1), trans-[PdCl(salNH(2))(PPh3)(2)](2), trans-[ReOI2(HsalNH(2))(

Disposition of 5-Aminosalicylic Acid by 5-Aminosalicylic Acid-Delivering Compounds

Scandinavian Journal of Gastroenterology, 1988
The disposition of 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA) from 5-ASA-delivering drugs was studied in eight healthy volunteers. Time-related urinary excretion and faecal excretion of 5-ASA and acetyl-5-ASA were measured after a single oral dose of the azo compounds sulphasalazine and olsalazine, of the slow-release compounds Pentasa, Asacol, and Salofalk, and of
