An electrochemical investigation of the formation of CoSx and its effect on the anodic dissolution of iron in ammoniacal-carbonate solutions [PDF]
It has been found that the co-presence of cobalt (II) and thiosulphate ions in ammoniacal-carbonate solutions promotes the passivation of iron, under conditions in which it would otherwise continue to dissolve anodically. Electrochemical experiments have

High Pressure Ammonia Oxidation
The principles of the design and operation of a new variable high pressure, large diameter experimental ammonia oxidation test facility built by Johnson Matthey Metals Limited are described. The layout and arrangement of the plant are illustrated in some detail and examples of its use with platinum catalysts are given.

Ammonia-oxidizing archaea and ammonia-oxidizing bacteria in six full-scale wastewater treatment bioreactors [PDF]
In this study, dideoxy sequencing and 454 high-throughput sequencing were used to analyze diversities of the ammonia monooxygenase (amoA) genes and the 16S rRNA genes of ammonia-oxidizing archaea (AOA) and ammonia-oxidizing bacteria (AOB) in six municipal wastewater treatment plants.

Receptor‐Free Identification of Toxic Gases Enabled by Hygroscopic Aqueous Salt Films
Water as a gas sensor coating sounds impossible—until it stops evaporating. Here, hygroscopic salt solutions (LiCl, LiBr, H3PO4) form non‐drying aqueous films on CNT chemiresistors under ambient air. Gases partition into these liquid layers, sometimes transforming into water, and generate salt‐specific resistance fingerprints across a four‐channel ...

Scaling relations for ammonia oxidation
The ammonia oxidation reaction is a reaction of great interest for its potential to upcycle ammonia waste, creating fertilizer salts beneficial for the agricultural industry. Currently, AOR catalysts typically suffer either from high onset potentials or catalyst poisoning, and better catalyst materials must be found in order for AOR to be viable for ...
