Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Ammonium Impacts Methane Oxidation and Methanotrophic Community in Freshwater Sediment
Lacustrine ecosystems are regarded as one of the important natural sources of greenhouse gas methane. Aerobic methane oxidation, carried out by methane-oxidizing bacteria, is a key process regulating methane emission.

Pentazole and Ammonium Pentazolate: Crystalline Hydro-Nitrogens at High Pressure
Two new crystalline compounds, pentazole (N_{5}H) and ammonium pentazolate (NH_{4})(N_{5}), both featuring cyclo-{\rm N_{5}^{-}} are discovered using first principles evolutionary search of the nitrogen-rich portion of the hydro-nitrogen binary phase ...

Leaves play a central role in the adaptation of nitrogen and sulfur metabolism to ammonium nutrition in oilseed rape (Brassica napus) [PDF]
Background: The coordination between nitrogen (N) and sulfur (S) assimilation is required to suitably provide plants with organic compounds essential for their development and growth.

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Importance of N2O in greenhouse gas budgets of tropical peatlands
Tropical peatland ecosystems significantly influence Earth’s climate through their greenhouse gas exchange. Permanently wet peatlands take up carbon dioxide in plants and accumulate organic carbon in soil but release methane.
