Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Benchmarking Bioinformatic Tools for Amplicon-Based Sequencing of Norovirus
In benchmarking bioinformatic pipelines for analyzing high-throughput sequencing (HTS) data sets, we provide method standardization for bioinformatics broadly and specifically for norovirus in situations for which no officially endorsed methods exist at present.

Detection of low-density Plasmodium falciparum infections using amplicon deep sequencing
Background Deep sequencing of targeted genomic regions is becoming a common tool for understanding the dynamics and complexity of Plasmodium infections, but its lower limit of detection is currently unknown.

Many patients with urothelial cancer do not benefit from treatment with pembrolizumab, while at risk of severe side effects. Changes in the levels of circulating tumor DNA early during treatment, measured by a simple and affordable assay that can be easily implemented in the clinic, can be used as a prognostic tool to identify these patients.

Metatranscriptomics and Amplicon Sequencing Reveal Mutualisms in Seagrass Microbiomes [PDF]
Terrestrial plants benefit from many well-understood mutualistic relationships with root- and leaf-associated microbiomes, but relatively little is known about these relationships for seagrass and other aquatic plants. We used 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing and metatranscriptomics to assess potential mutualisms between microorganisms and the ...
