Simple Analogue VLSI Circuit of a Cortical Neuron [PDF]

open access: yes2006 13th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems, 2006
This paper presents a novel analogue VLSI circuitry that reproduces spiking and bursting firing patterns of cortical neurons, using only 14 MOSFETs. The circuit provides a basic building block for the development of neuromorphic architectures. It enables implementation of many neurons in a single silicon chip while exhibiting flexibility in obtaining ...

Analogue median circuit

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1994
A new analogue median circuit with a very sharp DC transfer characteristic is described. The configuration is based on a multiple-input current comparator and can be generalised to other rank extractors. A prototype has been fabricated in a 2 µm CMOS technology, and experimental results are presented.

CMOS analogue median circuit

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1999
Median filters are very important nonlinear filters, finding many applications in image and speech processing. A novel CMOS analogue median circuit is proposed with a design that employs a combination of current-mode circuits such as a current absolute value circuit and a current minimum circuit.

Block-level bayesian diagnosis of analogue electronic circuits [PDF]

open access: yes2010 Design, Automation & Test in Europe Conference & Exhibition (DATE 2010), 2010
Daily experience with product designers, test and diagnosis engineers it is realized that the depth of interaction among them, ought to be high for successful diagnosis of analogue circuits. With this knowledge in mind, a responsibility was undertaken to choose a popular diagnostic method and define a systematic procedure that binds together the ...

Image interpolation by analogue circuit

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1992
An analogue computation circuit is proposed for image interpolation. This circuit is designed to maximise the smoothness of the interpolated data. With this circuit, high speed interpolation can be easily achieved.

Reproducible analogue circuit for chaoticsynchronisation

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1997
A highly reproducible analogue oscillator has been designed for chaotic synchronisation and secure communication. The oscillator contains a negative impedance converter, an LC resonance loop, an RC phase shift circuit, and a comparator chip used as a nonlinear device.

Analogue Circuit Control through Gene Expression [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Software configurable analogue arrays offer an intriguing platform for automated design by evolutionary algorithms. Like previous evolvable hardware experiments, these platforms are subject to noise during physical interaction with their environment. We report preliminary results of an evolutionary system that uses concepts from gene expression to both

A methodology for model-based diagnosis of analogue circuits

open access: yesApplied Artificial Intelligence, 2000
In this paper we present a methodology for model-based diagnosis of analog circuits using the constraint logic programming approach. Presented methodology stems from our earlier work on the diagnosis of active analog filters by the artificial intelligence tool CLP(R) and has the following major improvements: modeling of the diagnosed circuit is ...

A Simulation Study of Analogue and Logic Circuits with CNTFETs

open access: yesECS Journal of Solid State Science and Technology, 2016
In this paper we have implemented the semi-empirical compact model for CNTFETs already proposed by us to simulate typical analogue circuits and logic blocks both in SPICE, using ABM library, and in Verilog-A. The obtained results have been the same in static simulations and comparable in dynamic simulations.

The influence of No Fault Found in analogue CMOS circuits

open access: yes19th Annual International Mixed-Signals, Sensors, and Systems Test Workshop Proceedings, 2014
The most difficult fault category in electronic systems is the “No Fault Found‿ (NFF). It is considered to be the most costly fault category in, for instance, avionics. The relatively few papers in this area rarely deal with analogue integrated systems.
