Enhanced Infection Resistance and Regenerative Healing of Titanium Implants via Peptide‐Loaded Biodegradable Coatings

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study presents a new biodegradable coating for titanium implants using a natural antimicrobial peptide, caerin 1.9. Applied via solvent casting, the coating offers sustained antibacterial protection and promotes healing. Tested on 3D‐printed porous titanium scaffolds, it effectively prevented infection—including against resistant bacteria—while ...

Soft Robotic Excretory Care Simulator for Nursing Education: Functional and Perceptual Biomimetics Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A soft robotic simulator is developed to replicate the digital removal of feces (DRF), a sensitive yet essential nursing procedure. Integrating soft actuators, sensors, and a realistic rectal model, the simulator balances functional fidelity with perceptual realism. Engineering evaluations and nurse feedback confirm its potential to enhance training in

Overlapping Induction of Anesthesia

Anesthesiology, 2005
Background Overlapping induction (OI), i.e., induction of anesthesia with an additional team while the previous patient is still in the operating room (OR), was investigated. Methods The study period was 60 days in two followed by three ORs during surgical Block Time (7:30 am until ...

Pulmonary Hemodynamics during Induction of Anesthesia

Anesthesiology, 1977
Changes in pulmonary hemodynamics and acid-base balance were recorded during induction of anesthesia using either intravenous administration of barbiturate (28 patients) or inhalation of N2O-O2-halothane (12 patients). The two types of induction resulted in equal elevations of pressures within the pulmonary circulation.

Remimazolam anaphylaxis during anesthesia induction

Journal of Anesthesia, 2021
Anaphylactic shock is a potentially lethal complication during anesthesia and requires appropriate management to save the patient's life. We report a 32-year-old man who developed anaphylaxis during induction of general anesthesia with remimazolam for hand surgery. He received general anesthesia with midazolam 4 weeks before.
