Inhalational Anesthetic Photolabeling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Photolabeling has allowed considerable progress in the understanding of anesthetic binding to proteins, of target identity, and of site localization. There are, however, few groups doing this work, so this article is an attempt to demystify the method. We will discuss the theory, method, and limitations of this useful experimental approach.

Malignant hyperthermia: A case report

open access: yesHuman Pathology Reports, 2023
Malignant hyperthermia is a rare hypermetabolic pharmacogenetic pathologic disorder of calcium release control in skeletal muscle following exposure to depolarizing muscle relaxants and inhalational anesthetics in general anesthesia.

Proton nuclear magnetic resonance and pattern recognition analysis of liver extracts from rats under different anesthetics

open access: yesBMC Medical Imaging, 2012
Background Although general anesthesia is widely used in the surgical arena, the mechanisms by which general anesthetics act remain unclear. We previously described alterations in gene expression ratios in hepatic tissue taken from rats treated with ...

Intraoperative Blood Loss during Induced Abortion: A Comparison of Anesthetics

open access: yesAnesthesiology Research and Practice, 2018
Objective. To determine whether there is a difference in intraoperative bleeding with inhalational versus noninhalational anesthetic agents for patients undergoing suction dilatation and curettage for first-trimester induced abortion. Methods. This is an

Inhalational anesthetics agents: The pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamics, and their effects on human body

open access: yesBiomedical and Biotechnology Research Journal, 2018
In this review article, inhalational anesthetics agents and their pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamics and effects on the central nervous, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems are discussed. There is a wide spectrum of inhalational anesthetic agents with

THE PROTECTIVE EFFECT OF INSULIN AGAINST ISOFLURANE AND SEVOFLURANE INDUCED HEPATOCELLULAR APOPTOSIS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Egyptian Society of Parasitology, 2018
Several studies deducted that inhalational anesthetics induce apoptosis in human cells. Insulin is believed to have an antiapoptotic action so it is widely used as cardioprotective agent against ischemic reperfusion injuries.

Research progress on mitochondrial mechanisms of sensitivity to inhalational anesthetics

open access: yesZhongguo linchuang yanjiu
Experimental animals and people have different sensitivity to inhalational anesthetics, which is related to the depth of anesthesia during general anesthesia and the perioperative safety of patients.

Low flow anesthesia [PDF]

open access: yesSerbian Journal of Anesthesia and Intensive Therapy, 2016
Historically, rebreathing anesthesia systems were invented to reduce the consumption of volatile anesthetics and to optimize respiratory gas conditioning. However, the industry is still modifying and optimizing the rebreathing circle systems. Most of the

Anesthetics may modulate cancer surgical outcome: a possible role of miRNAs regulation

open access: yesBMC Anesthesiology, 2021
Background microRNAs (miRNAs) are single-stranded and noncoding RNA molecules that control post-transcriptional gene regulation. miRNAs can be tumor suppressors or oncogenes through various mechanism including cancer cell biology, cell-to-cell ...
