Potential Role of ANGPTL4 in the Cross Talk between Metabolism and Cancer through PPAR Signaling Pathway

open access: yesPPAR Research, 2017
The angiopoietin-like 4 (ANGPTL4) protein belongs to a superfamily of secreted proteins structurally related to factors modulating angiogenesis known as angiopoietins.

Angiopoietin‐like protein 3 complete and partial deficiency markedly accelerates apolipoprotein B48 and B100 metabolism in triglyceride‐rich lipoproteins in humans

open access: yesJournal of Internal Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Angiopoietin‐like protein 3 (ANGPTL3) is a key circulating regulator of triglyceride metabolism and a promising pharmacological target. The physiological consequences of profound ANGPTL3 deficiency can be explored in individuals with inherited loss‐of‐function (LOF) variants, who show reduced lifetime risk of atherosclerotic ...

Molecular Signatures of Peripheral and Central Dental Pulp Subpopulations in Response to Streptococcus mutans: A Bulk RNA‐Seq Analysis

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, Volume 59, Issue 7, Page 1402-1415, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim The dental pulp is an immunologically active tissue that responds dynamically to cariogenic challenge. Peripheral pulp cells adjacent to dentine encounter bacterial stimuli earlier than cells located in the central pulp. To investigate signalling and immune interactions, this study profiled the transcriptomes of dentine‐adherent cells ...

The relationship between plasma angiopoietin-like protein 4 levels, angiopoietin-like protein 4 genotype, and coronary heart disease

open access: yes, 2010
Objective—To investigate the relationship between angiopoietin-like protein 4 (Angptl4) levels, coronary heart disease (CHD) biomarkers, and ANGPTL4 variants.

Cellular Snowballing: Cell Adhesion and Migration Drive the Self‐Assembly of Cell‐Microgel Biohybrid Spheroids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 30, 28 May 2026.
A new class of biohybrid spheroids is engineered through the self‐assembly of adherent cells and extracellular matrix‐mimetic hydrogel microparticles (microgels). By mimicking a snowballing effect, this approach enables scalable formation of porous, millimeter‐scale spheroids with enhanced cell viability and molecular diffusion.

Hepatitis C Virus and Type 2 Diabetes: Mechanisms, Clinical Impact, and Post‐DAA Management

open access: yesJournal of Medical Virology, Volume 98, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection remains a major global health burden despite advances in direct‐acting antiviral (DAA) therapies. Beyond hepatic complications such as cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), HCV has been strongly linked to metabolic disorders, particularly type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).

Angiopoietin-like 4 induces a β-catenin-mediated upregulation of ID3 in fibroblasts to reduce scar collagen expression

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
In adult skin wounds, collagen expression rapidly re-establishes the skin barrier, although the resultant scar is aesthetically and functionally inferior to unwounded tissue.

Effect of chronic intermittent hypoxia on triglyceride uptake in different tissues

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2013
Chronic intermittent hypoxia (CIH) inhibits plasma lipoprotein clearance and adipose lipoprotein lipase (LPL) activity in association with upregulation of an LPL inhibitor angiopoietin-like protein 4 (Angptl4).
