Gut Luminal Exosomes in Young and Old Mice: Multi‐Omic Characteristics and Regulation of Gut Permeability

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 4, April 2026.
This graphical abstract shows that gut luminal exosomes (LFEs) change with aging, with old mice producing LFEs that disrupt gut barrier integrity, alter microbiome composition, and promote insulin resistance. In contrast, LFEs from young mice improve gut barrier function and metabolic health, and transferring these LFEs can partially reverse age ...

Tear proteome analysis in ocular surface diseases using label-free LC-MS/MS and multiplexedmicroarray biomarker validation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We analyzed the tear film proteome of patients with dry eye (DE), meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD), and normal volunteers (CT). Tear samples were collected from 70 individuals.

A Novel Dysferlin‐Binding Kinase CK2α Promotes Plasma Membrane Repair in Dysferlinopathy

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 6, 31 March 2026.
When the cell membrane is injured, extracellular calcium enters the cell, triggering the accumulation of dysferlin at the lesion site. In the presence of dysferlin, CK2 is efficiently recruited to the damaged membrane and maintains its kinase activity through interaction with dysferlin.

Traumatic Brain Injury Induces Genome-Wide Transcriptomic, Methylomic, and Network Perturbations in Brain and Blood Predicting Neurological Disorders. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The complexity of the traumatic brain injury (TBI) pathology, particularly concussive injury, is a serious obstacle for diagnosis, treatment, and long-term prognosis. Here we utilize modern systems biology in a rodent model of concussive injury to gain a

Lipopolysaccharide as trigger of platelet aggregation via eicosanoid over-production [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The effect of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) on platelet aggregation is still controversial. We performed in vitro and ex vivo studies in controls and in patients with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) to assess the effect of LPS on platelet activation (PA ...

Role of the long non‑coding RNA‑Annexin A2 pseudogene 3/Annexin A2 signaling pathway inbiliary atresia‑associated hepatic injury

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Medicine, 2018
Biliary atresia (BA) is the most common cause of chronic cholestasis in children. The long non‑coding RNA (lncRNA) Annexin A2 pseudogene 3 (ANXA2P3) and Annexin A2 (ANXA2) have been suggested to serve pivotal roles in BA; however, the clinical significance and biological roles of ANXA2P3 and ANXA2 in BA remain to be elucidated.
