A Quick Method to Analyze Peptide-Regulated Anthocyanin Biosynthesis
2023Post-translationally modified peptides are now recognized as important regulators of plant stress responses. We recently identified the sulfated CLE-LIKE6 (CLEL6) peptide as a negative regulator of anthocyanin biosynthesis in dark-grown and in light-stressed Arabidopsis seedlings.

The synthesis and degradation of anthocyanins in developing flower buds and in mature flowers of Petunia hybrida were investigated by incubating petals in the presence or absence of an inhibitor of anthocyanin synthesis (α-aminooxyacetic acid). In flower buds only synthesis and no degradation of anthocyanins was observed, whereas in mature flowers no ...

MYB-1 regulates anthocyanin biosynthesis in Magnolia wufengensis
Plant Physiology and BiochemistryAnthocyanin is an essential pigment in all major horticultural crops especially in ornamental trees. Magnolia wufengensis (new species of Magnolia) with red color flower was recently found as a popular species for ornamental use, but anthocyanin synthesis and regulation in M. wufengensis are poorly understood. Herein, transcriptome analysis was used to

Spinach (Spinacia oleracea L.) is widely cultivated as an economically important green leafy vegetable crop for fresh and processing consumption. The red–purple spinach shows abundant anthocyanin accumulation in the leaf and leaf petiole. However, the molecular mechanisms of anthocyanin synthesis in this species are still undetermined.

Plant biochemistry: anthocyanin biosynthesis in roses.
Nature, 2005Anthocyanin is the principal pigment in flowers, conferring intense red-to-blue cyanic colours on petals and helping to attract pollinators. Its biosynthesis involves glycosylation steps that are important for the stability of the pigment and for its aqueous solubility in vacuoles.
