Diagnostic and prognostic value of anti-CarP antibodies in a sample of Egyptian rheumatoid arthritis patients

Clinical Rheumatology, 2019
Detection of autoantibodies in sera of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients has an important role in diagnosis and management strategies. Recently, another type of autoantibodies has been detected with activity against carbamylated proteins (anti-CarP) which may play an important role in the diagnosis of RA.

Association of anti-CarP levels with clinical activity and serological profile in rheumatoid arthritis

Medicina Clínica
To analyze the association of anti-CarP levels with clinical activity, manifestations, and serological profile in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients.Cross-sectional study including RA patients and healthy controls (HC). Clinical and analytical data were collected, and anti-CarP levels were measured by ELISA.A total of 101 patients (79% female, mean age

Identification of carbamylated alpha 1 anti-trypsin (A1AT) as an antigenic target of anti-CarP antibodies in patients with rheumatoid arthritis

Journal of Autoimmunity, 2017
In 2011 a novel autoantibody system, anti-carbamylated protein (anti-CarP) antibodies, was described in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients. Anti-CarP antibody positivity associates with a more severe disease course, is observed years before disease onset, and may predict the development of RA in arthralgia patients.

Anti-CarP antibodies as promising marker to measure joint damage and disease activity in patients with rheumatoid arthritis

Immunologic Research, 2014
Anti-citrullinated protein antibodies (ACPA) are important serological markers in the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and are part of the recent disease classification criteria. However, there is a strong need for reliable markers for measuring and predicting joint damage and disease activity.

The association between anti-carbamylated protein (anti-CarP) antibodies and radiographic progression in early rheumatoid arthritis: a study exploring replication and the added value to ACPA and rheumatoid factor

Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases, 2017
Anti-carbamylated protein (anti-CarP) antibodies are reported to associate with more radiographic progression within the total rheumatoid arthritis (RA) population and anti-citrullinated peptide antibody (ACPA)-negative subgroup. We explored the association of anti-CarP with radiographic progression in RA and aimed to replicate the association and ...

Anti-carbamylated protein (anti-CarP) antibodies precede the onset of rheumatoid arthritis

Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases, 2014
The presence of anti-citrullinated protein antibodies (ACPA) and IgM-rheumatoid factor (IgM-RF) years before the clinical diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) suggests they are possibly involved in the pathogenic process underlying RA. In this study, we analysed whether anti-carbamylated protein (anti-CarP) antibodies, a novel autoantibody system ...
