A Reproducible Workflow for Macrophage Membrane Isolation and Nanocore Selection Toward Bioinspired Nanoparticles Targeting Immunologically Cold Tumors

open access: yesSmall Methods, Volume 10, Issue 5, 9 March 2026.
A reproducible workflow is established for isolating macrophage membranes to enable the efficient preparation and characterization of membrane‐coated nanoparticles. By optimizing M2‐like nanovesicle stability and nanocore compatibility, this procedure advances the engineering of macrophage membrane‐coated nanoparticles with improved tumor targeting ...

Primary Meningeal Extraskeletal Osteosarcoma in a Domestic Shorthaired Cat: Case Report and Review of Comparative Pathology

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 2, March 2026.
A domestic shorthaired cat with neurological signs compatible with a forebrain lesion was investigated with magnetic resonance imaging, revealing a mass with intracranial and extracranial components. Due to the poor prognosis the cat was euthanized, and gross and histopathological examination identified an extraskeletal osteosarcoma with its origin in ...

Piezo1‐Mediated Mechanotransduction: Orchestrating the Dynamic Response of Podocytes and Parietal Epithelial Cells to Mechanical Stress

open access: yesActa Physiologica, Volume 242, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim The glomerulus is a specialized microvascular unit that filters plasma through the coordinated function of podocytes and parietal epithelial cells (PECs). From this perspective, the glomerulus functions like a living hydrogeological filtration system.

Meflin/ISLR is a meningeal cell‐specific marker involved in the development of meninges and meningioma progression

open access: yesBrain Pathology, Volume 36, Issue 2, March 2026.
Mesenchymal stromal cell‐and fibroblast‐expressing Linx paralogue (Meflin) is expressed in embryonic meninges and contributes to meningeal homeostasis. In meningiomas, elevated Meflin correlates with higher grade and recurrence. Single‐cell RNA sequencing revealed a Meflin‐high tumor cell subset marked by reduced proliferation, WNT6 expression, and ...

Resveratrol as a Novel YAP Inhibitor Targeting Glioblastoma Progression and Sensitizing to Chemotherapy

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 117, Issue 3, Page 695-710, March 2026.
This study shows that YAP, a key effector of the Hippo pathway, is highly upregulated in glioblastoma and drives tumor growth, invasion, and survival. Knockdown of YAP or treatment with Resveratrol (a blood–brain barrier–permeable phytochemical) significantly reduced these malignant traits.

Sex Differences in Cancer Immunotherapy—Clinical Evidence and Mechanisms With a Focus on NSCLC

open access: yesImmunological Reviews, Volume 338, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Accumulating evidence suggests that the immune system shows subtle but relevant differences between men and women. These differences may have an impact on cancer development and TME composition as well as responses to and adverse events elicited by immunotherapies.

Calcium Dysregulation Promotes Glioma Progression by Inhibiting STAT3 Degradation Through Blocking Chaperone‐Mediated Autophagy

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 30, Issue 5, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Calcium dysregulation is closely associated with cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. Transient receptor potential canonical 1 (TRPC1) plays an essential role in regulating calcium homeostasis. However, the role of TRPC1 in calcium dysregulation in gliomas remains incompletely understood. In this study, we demonstrate that TRPC1

A Brain‐Targeting Curcumin Analog Inhibits Glioblastoma Progression Through THBS1/TGF‐β1/PI3K–AKT Axis Modulation: Evidence From Experimental and Bioinformatic Analyses

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 30, Issue 5, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most aggressive primary brain tumour, associated with a dismal prognosis and an urgent need for innovative therapeutic strategies. To address this challenge, our group developed DMC‐GF, a novel brain‐targeted curcumin analog engineered to enhance blood–brain barrier permeability by blocking metabolic sites and ...

Pan‐cancer analysis reveals molecular signatures for predicting matrix stiffness in solid tumors

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 158, Issue 4, Page 1093-1105, 15 February 2026.
What's new? Tumor matrix stiffness plays a critical role in cancer progression, metastasis, and therapy resistance. Here, the authors leveraged tumor RNA‐seq data to identify molecular signatures of mechanical properties across various cancer types and build a computational model for predicting tumor matrix stiffness.
