De Novo Multi‐Mechanism Antimicrobial Peptide Design via Multimodal Deep Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Current AI‐driven peptide discovery often overlooks complex structural data. This study presents M3‐CAD, a generative pipeline that leverages 3D voxel coloring and a massive database of over 12 000 peptides to capture nuanced physicochemical contexts.

Association of mutations in the basal core promoter and pre-core regions of the hepatitis B viral genome and longitudinal changes in HBV level in HBEAG negative individuals: Results from a cohort study in northern Iran [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Background: Although certain HBV mutations are known to affect the expression of Hepatitis e antigen, their association with HBV viral level or clinical outcomes is less clear.

Organ‐Specific and Conserved Regulatory Logic Orchestrates Gene Expression in the Embryonic Mesothelium

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Integrated multi‐omic profiling maps the gene‐regulatory landscape of the coelomic mesothelium across heart, lung, and pancreas. A cardiac‐restricted regulatory program is uncovered in which TBX20 activates heart mesothelial (epicardial) cis‐regulatory elements, while MAF emerges as a conserved regulator of mesothelial identity.

Potent and Selective IGF‐IIR‐Recruiting Bifunctional Molecules for Targeted Lysosomal Degradation of Extracellular and Membrane Proteins

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lysosome‐targeting chimeras (LYTACs) enable degradation of extracellular and membrane proteins via lysosomal trafficking. We report a novel IGF‐II mutant (Del1–7, Y27L) that selectively engages IGF‐IIR while avoiding IGF‐IR and IR‐A. mutIGF‐II–based LYTACs enhance target internalization and degradation and support a genetically encodable, all‐protein ...

Activation of ERBB4 Pathway Inhibits Pathological Transdifferentiation of Lung Epithelial Progenitors into CD66c+ Basal Cells in Severe Lung Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In fibrotic distal lung regions, CD66c+ basal cells emerge as a pathological state. Using human distal lung organoids, this study identifies CD66c+ basal cells as a pro‐fibrotic state arising through transdifferentiation from secretory, AT2, and basal cells.

Coexistence of low levels of HBsAg and high levels of anti-HBs may increase risk of hepatocellular carcinoma in chronic hepatitis B patients with high HBV load

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Infectious Diseases, 2019
Objective: The clinical significance of coexistence of HBsAg/anti-HBs in chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients remains controversial. This study was aimed to assess the association of this serological pattern with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in patients ...

Seroprevalence of hepatitis B and C virus infections among health students and health care workers in the Najran region, southwestern Saudi Arabia: The need for national guidelines for health students [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
BACKGROUND: The objectives of the study were to study the seroprevalence of hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) infections among health college students (HS) and health care workers (HCWs) in the Najran Region of south-western Saudi ...
