Anti-HLA antibodies in pemphigoid gestationis (herpes gestationis)

British Journal of Dermatology, 1993
Pemphigoid gestationis (PG; herpes gestationis) is a rare autoimmune disease associated with pregnancy, currently defined by the presence of complement deposition along the cutaneous basement membrane zone. It is known to be associated with HLA-DR3 and DR4, and an increase in anti-HLA antibodies in those with a history of PG has been reported.

Abrogation of Anti-HLA Antibodies via Proteasome Inhibition

Transplantation, 2009
Background. Current treatments for autoantibody-mediated diseases (i.e., systemic lupus erythematosus) and alloantibodies (in transplant) are minimally effective. Although they deplete naïve B cells, plasmablasts, and transiently reduce antibody concentrations, they are minimally effective against long-lived ...

SUCCESSFUL REMOVAL AND PREVENTION OF RESYNTHESIS OF ANTI-HLA ANTIBODY

Transplantation, 1984
The successful removal and prevention of the resynthesis of an anti-HLA antibody by plasma exchange and immunosuppression in a patient awaiting renal transplantation is described. Before treatment, the patient's serum contained a high titer (greater than 1/50) anti-HLA antibody that reacted with 94% of our lymphocyte donor panel and produced positive ...

Post-transfusion thrombocytopenia in recipients with anti-HLA antibody

Transfusion Science, 2000
Allogeneic red cell transfusion produced a significant decrease in the platelet counts of recipients who possessed anti-HLA antibodies.

Production and characterization of chimeric anti-HLA monoclonal antibodies targeting public epitopes as tools for standardizations of the anti-HLA antibody detection

Journal of Immunological Methods, 2013
Two chimeric monoclonal antibodies (MoAbs) were designed with variable parts of the mouse antibodies W6/32 and F3.3, and the human constant parts C-gamma1 and C-kappa. These chimeric MoAbs are specific for HLA-class I and HLA-class II public epitopes, respectively.

THE SPECIFICITY OF ANTI‐HLA CLASS II MONOCLONAL ANTIBODIES IN CATTLE

European Journal of Immunogenetics, 1997
At the Eleventh International HLA Histocompatibility Workshop, numerous anti‐HLA class II monoclonal antibodies (mAb) were tested. For several of the polymorphic mAb, one epitope for binding has been mapped within the antigen‐binding site of the class II molecules.

[Anti-HLA antibodies in nephropathic patients].

Giornale italiano di nefrologia : organo ufficiale della Societa italiana di nefrologia, 2004
The presence of anti-human leukocyte antigen (HLA) alloantibodies in nephropathic patients is due to immunogenic stimuli such as transfusions, pregnancies, and transplantations. These stimuli can be highlighted using a classic aspecific serologic technique, such as complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC) or using more recent and specific techniques ...

Management of Anti-HLA Antibodies and Acute Antibody-Mediated Rejection

2020
In many ways, the immunologic barrier of a highly sensitized patient receiving an allograft is similar to that encountered in a pig-to-human xenotransplant. Patients who are sensitized to allo-human leukocyte antigen (HLA) have a primed humoral and cellular immune response, and many will have preformed donor-specific antibody (DSA).
