Choosing and using non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in haemophilia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The management of pain and inflammation in haemophilic arthropathy is challenging due to the lack of anti-inflammatory analgesic agents perfectly suitable for this population.

Short-acting β2-agonist prescriptions in patients with asthma: findings from the South Korean cohort of SABINA III [PDF]

open access: yesThe Korean Journal of Internal Medicine
Background/Aims Despite short-acting β2-agonist (SABA) overuse being associated with poor asthma outcomes, data on SABA use in South Korea is scarce.

Preliminary analysis of the anti-inflammatory activity of essential oils of Zingiber zerumbet [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) have been widely used for the treatment of inflammation. However, despite their effectiveness, most NSAIDs cause various side effects that negatively affect the management of inflammation and, in part, pain ...

Anti-inflammatory Therapies for Coronary Heart Disease: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2021
Background: Anti-inflammatory therapy has been proposed as a promising treatment for coronary heart disease (CHD) that could reduce residual inflammation risk (RIR) and therefore major adverse cardiovascular events. We implemented a systematic review and

Antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activity of chitosan-alginate nanoparticles: a targeted therapy for cutaneous pathogens. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Advances in nanotechnology have demonstrated potential application of nanoparticles (NPs) for effective and targeted drug delivery. Here we investigated the antimicrobial and immunological properties and the feasibility of using NPs to deliver ...

ANTI-INFLAMMATORY ACTIVITY OF BAWANG DAYAK (ELEUTHERINE BULBOSA (MILL. URB.))ETHANOL BULB EXTRACTS

open access: yesJournal of Vocational Health Studies, 2019
Background: Inflammation is a normal process in response to injury, but causes problems for the patient, including the appearance of pain, swelling, or fever.

Synergistic drug combinations from electronic health records and gene expression. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
ObjectiveUsing electronic health records (EHRs) and biomolecular data, we sought to discover drug pairs with synergistic repurposing potential. EHRs provide real-world treatment and outcome patterns, while complementary biomolecular data, including ...

Imeglimin attenuates liver fibrosis by inhibiting vesicular ATP release from hepatic stellate cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Imeglimin, at clinically relevant concentrations, inhibits vesicular ATP accumulation and release from hepatic stellate cells, thereby attenuating purinergic signaling and reducing fibrogenic activation. This mechanism reveals a newly identified antifibrotic action of imeglimin beyond glycemic control.

Effect of a small molecule inhibitor of nuclear factor-κB nuclear translocation in a murine model of arthritis and cultured human synovial cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
A small cell-permeable compound, dehydroxymethylepoxyquinomicin (DHMEQ), does not inhibit phosphorylation and degradation of IκB (inhibitor of nuclear factor-κB [NF-κB]) but selectively inhibits nuclear translocation of activated NF-κB.

Biophysical analysis of angiotensin II and amyloid‐β cross‐interaction in aggregation and membrane disruption

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Angiotensin II (AngII), a neuropeptide, interacts with amyloid‐β (Aβ), a key player in Alzheimer's disease. This study reveals that AngII reduces Aβ aggregation and membrane disruption in vitro. Biophysical assays and molecular modeling suggest AngII binds disordered Aβ forms, potentially modulating early amyloidogenic events and contributing to ...
