SOYBEAN BREEDING TO REDUCE ANTI-NUTRIENTS IN THE SEEDS

Anti-nutrient components and their concentrations in edible parts in vegetable families.
CABI Reviews, 2018Abstract Information on food composition including types and contents of nutrients and anti-nutrients is important for food and nutrition research. There is satisfactory information on established nutritive elements for various food groups. However, literature on anti-nutrient component generally scattered and scanty on few major food

Nutrient and anti-nutrient components of some tropical leafy vegetables
Food Chemistry, 1995Abstract Several leafy vegetables species (n = 17) found in Nigeria were analysed for their proximate chemical composition, mineral constituents, energy values, phytin and oxalate content in the fresh and air-dried material. The dry vegetables contained on average, 19·3 g/100 g crude protein (CP).

STUDYING THE INFLUENCE OF STARTER CROPS ON THE CONTENT OF ANTI-NUTRIENTS IN AMARANTH SILO

[Determination of anti-nutrients in genetically modified crops].
Wei sheng yan jiu = Journal of hygiene research, 2006In order to assess the safety of genetically modified crops, the anti-nutrients were determined in these novel crops and compared with their parental lines.Five kinds of crops (rice, maize, soybean, cottonseed and rapeseed) from domestic and foreign companies were collected and the contents of anti-nutrients for each kind were analyzed.

Detoxification and anti-nutrients reduction of Jatropha curcas seed cake by Bacillus fermentation
Journal of Bioscience and Bioengineering, 2013Jatropha curcas seed cake is a by-product generated from oil extraction of J. curcas seed. Although it contains a high amount of protein, it has phorbol esters and anti-nutritional factors such as phytate, trypsin inhibitor, lectin and saponin. It cannot be applied directly in the food or animal feed industries.

Evaluation of nutrients and some anti-nutrients in lesser-known, underutilized oilseeds
International Journal of Food Science and Technology, 2003Abstract The levels of anti-nutritional factors and the chemical composition of five underutilized and not well known commercial oilseeds – castor bean, conophor nut, ‘egusi’ melon, African oil bean and locust bean – were determined. The crude protein values for the respective oilseeds were 201.8, 227.5, 314.1, 206.3 and 290.6 g kg−1 DM,
