Antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity
AIDS, 1988This study confirms the presence of detectable antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) towards both HTLV-I- and HIV-1-infected cell lines, mediated by normal donor peripheral blood mononuclear cells and either by antibody from adult T-cell lymphoma and tropical spastic paraparesis patients (HTLV-I) or by antibody from sera of patients with

Antibody-Dependent Cellular Cytotoxicity Effector Cells Lack Ia Antigens
The Journal of Immunology, 1977Abstract Surface immunoglobulin (sIg)-positive and sIg-negative subpopulations of macrophage-depleted murine splenic lymphocytes were obtained by Sephadex anti-Fab immunoabsorbent fractionation. These lymphocyte subpopulations were analyzed for the presence of Thy 1 and Ia alloantigens and also for Fc receptors by fluorescence microscopy.

Antibody-Dependent Lymphoid Cell-Mediated Cytotoxicity: Role of Complement
The Journal of Immunology, 1974Abstract Unsensitized lymphoid cells have the capacity to destroy antibody-coated target cells in vitro. Definitive studies to rule out the participation of complement (C) components in this reaction require a system with a complete absence of C components and with no possibility of endogenous synthesis of C by cells in culture.

Antibody-dependent Cytotoxicity to Transitional Cells in Cystitis Cystica
Journal of Urology, 1981Serum from 20 children with urinary tract infections and proved cystitis cystica has been examined for antibody to a panel of established cell lines derived from normal urothelium and transitional cell carcinomas of the bladder. Antibody-dependent cytotoxicity was measured with serial dilutions of patient serum and lymphocytes from normal healthy ...

Evaluating Antibody-Dependent Cell-Mediated Cytotoxicity by Flow Cytometry
2019Antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) is a mechanism in which immune cell activation is induced by the cross-linking of CD16 with the Fc region of antibodies that at the same time bind specifically to cell surface antigens. ADCC stimulates the secretion of perforin, granzymes, and cytokines leading to lysis of the malignant cells ...

Inhibition of antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity by ethanol
Immunopharmacology, 1984Ethanol has been shown to inhibit spontaneous cell-mediated cytotoxicity and antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity in vitro in a dose-dependent manner. The effect was observed under differing assay conditions such as incubation time and effector: target cell ratio. Acetaldehyde, the primary metabolite of ethanol, did not inhibit these functions

Origin of the antibody-dependent cytotoxic cell in man
Clinical Immunology and Immunopathology, 1977Abstract Antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) against lymphoblastoid cells was absent in three cases of severe combined immunodeficiency prior to bone marrow transplantation. Post-transplantation, ADCC, T-cell function, and B-cell function were restored independently of each other.
