BCG vaccination potentiates oxidative phosphorylation in neonatal myeloid‐derived suppressor cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
BCG vaccination enhances oxidative phosphorylation in neonatal MDSCs, impairing their immunosuppressive function. It upregulates electron transport chain genes and mitochondrial activity, increasing ATP and oxygen consumption. Pharmacological OXPHOS inhibition partially restores suppressive capacity, confirming causality.

Adoptive Cellular Therapy in Acute Myeloid Leukemia: Current Scope and Challenges

open access: yesHematology/Oncology and Stem Cell Therapy, 2022
Adoptive cellular therapies have revolutionized the management of hematologic malignancies, particularly lymphoma and multiple myeloma. These therapies targeting disease-specific antigens, such as CD19 in lymphoma and B cell maturation antigen in ...

CD19/CD20 dual-targeted chimeric antigen receptor-engineered natural killer cells exhibit improved cytotoxicity against acute lymphoblastic leukemia

open access: yesJournal of Translational Medicine
Background Chimeric antigen receptor natural killer (CAR-NK) cells represent a promising advancement in CAR cell therapy, addressing limitations observed in CAR-T cell therapy.

Secondary donor-derived humanized CD19-modified CAR-T cells induce remission in relapsed/refractory mixed phenotype acute leukemia after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation: a case report

open access: yesBiomarker Research, 2020
Background Mixed phenotype acute leukemia (MPAL) is a rare leukemia and is regarded as a high-risk entity with a poor prognosis. Induction therapy of an acute lymphoblastic leukemia type or hybrid regimen and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation has ...

Natural Expression of the CD19 Antigen Impacts the Long-Term Engraftment but Not Antitumor Activity of CD19-Specific Engineered T Cells [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Immunology, 2010
Abstract T cells gene-modified to express chimeric Ag receptors (CARs) have shown potent antitumor activity in vivo and are in clinical trials at locations worldwide. However, CAR activity has been investigated in mouse models in which Ag expression is restricted to the tumor.

Super-resolution microscopy reveals ultra-low CD19 expression on myeloma cells that triggers elimination by CD19 CAR-T

open access: yes, 2019
Immunotherapy with chimeric antigen receptor-engineered T-cells (CAR-T) is under investigation in multiple myeloma. There are reports of myeloma remission after CD19 CAR-T therapy, although CD19 is hardly detectable on myeloma cells by flow cytometry (FC)

Inebilizumab in AQP4‐Seropositive NMOSD: One‐Year Follow‐Up From a Multicenter, Real‐World Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Real‐world evidence on inebilizumab among neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) patients is lacking. This study assessed inebilizumab among Chinese patients with aquaporin 4 autoantibody (AQP4‐IgG)‐seropositive NMOSD in a real‐world setting.

Abstract 3768: CAR T cells specific for CD19 can be redirected to kill CD19 negative tumors

open access: yes, 2017
Introduction. Remarkable progress has been made in the treatment of relapsed/refractory Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia and Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma with CAR-CD19 T cells. In contrast, progress against CD19-negative hematological cancers and solid tumors has been

CD34+CD19-CD22+ B-cell progenitors might underlie phenotypic escape in patients treated with CD19-directed therapies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
CD19-directed immunotherapies have revolutionized the treatment of advanced B-ALL. Despite initial impressive rates of complete remission (CR) many patients ultimately relapse.
