CD1-mediated immune responses in mucosal tissues: molecular mechanisms underlying lipid antigen presentation system

open access: yesExperimental and Molecular Medicine, 2023
The cluster of differentiation 1 (CD1) molecule differs from major histocompatibility complex class I and II because it presents glycolipid/lipid antigens. Moreover, the CD1-restricted T cells that recognize these self and foreign antigens participate in

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 6, Page 1535-1555, June 2026.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Surface antigen in early differentiation. [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 1977
Addition of Fab fragments from rabbit antiserum to surface antigen F9 to 2-cell stage mouse embryos in culture does not alter cleavage; however, the addition prevents culture does not alter cleavage; however, the addition prevents the formation of compact morulae and blastocysts.

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 6, Page 1473-1493, June 2026.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

mTOR intersects antibody-inducing signals from TACI in marginal zone B cells

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
Marginal zone B cells differentiate into plasma cells rapidly in response to T-cell-independent antigens, but how they do so is not clear. Here the authors show TACI cooperates with TLR signalling to drive mTOR activity and subsequent class switching and

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 6, Page 1556-1590, June 2026.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Human natural killer cell committed thymocytes and their relation to the T cell lineage. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Recent studies have demonstrated that mature natural killer (NK) cells can be grown from human triple negative (TN; CD3-, CD4-, CD8-) thymocytes, suggesting that a common NK/T cell precursor exists within the thymus that can give rise to both NK cells ...

Isolation, culture expansion and characterization of canine bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells [PDF]

open access: yesĀsīb/shināsī-i Darmāngāhī-i Dāmpizishkī, 2016
The purpose of the present study was to isolate, culture expand and characterize canine bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells. Bone marrow aspirates of 15 adult male dogs were collected to this end and their mononuclear cells isolated by ...

Cells isolated from residual intracranial tumors after treatment express iPSC genes and possess neural lineage differentiation plasticityResearch in context

open access: yesEBioMedicine, 2018
Background: The goal of this study is to identify and characterize treatment resistant tumor initiating cells (TRTICs) using orthotopic xenografts. Methods: TRTICs were enriched from GBM cell lines using mouse xenografts treated with fractionated doses ...

Predominantly epithelial-type synovial sarcoma with overwhelming neuroendocrine differentiation: a potential diagnostic pitfall

open access: yesDiagnostic Pathology, 2022
Background Synovial sarcoma is an uncommon soft tissue tumor of soft tissue, characterized by a specific SS18 rearrangement. It generally manifests as a lesion composed of monomorphic spindle cells and sometimes shows variable epithelial differentiation.
