[Antimycobacterial indole derivatives].

Archiv der Pharmazie, 1994
1,3-Dinitro-2-(indol-3'-yl)-propanes 3 are synthesized by Michael reaction of nitromethane with the indolylnitroethenes 2. Reaction of the aldehydes 4 and 10 with the benzylamines 12 as well as the reaction of the indolylalkylamines 6a and 9a with the benzaldehydes 11 lead to Schiff bases which are reduced to N-benzyl-(indol-3-ylmethyl)-amines 13 and N-

Antimycobacterials from Fungi

2018
Tuberculosis is an endemic disease of the poverty ridden, undernourished and over populated countries of the world. It is also a systemic disease that is extremely dependent on the physiology of the system it invades and thus varies significantly from person to person. New developments in the treatment of this disease have rarely percolated down to the

Antimycobacterial flavones from Haplopappus sonorensis

Fitoterapia, 2003
Crude extracts of Haplopappus sonorensis (A. Gray) S.F. Blake (Asteraceae), showed activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H(37)Rv. By assay-guided fractionation, 5-hydroxy-3,7,4'-trimethoxyflavone (1). 5,7-dihydroxy-3,4'-dimethoxyflavone (2). and 5,4'-dihydroxy-3,7-dimethoxyflavone (3). were identified as the antimycobacterial principles. Antimycobacterial Antibodies in Pleural Effusions

Chest, 1990
We devised a dot blot assay to evaluate the IgG and IgA response to P32, a recently isolated antigen specific to mycobacteria. Pleural fluids and the corresponding sera were tested, obtained from five patients with pleural tuberculosis proven by direct examination and/or culture and from 14 patients with pleural effusions of other origins.

[Antimycobacterial antihistaminics].

Archiv der Pharmazie, 1990
The testing of antihistaminic compounds of various chemical classes for antimycobacterial properties is described. A lot of these compounds inhibit the growth of mycobacteria at a concentration of 8-32 micrograms/ml.

Antimycobacterial drugs.

Seminars in respiratory infections, 1994
This review consists of the following three sections: (1) General principles in selecting antimycobacterial drugs for the treatment regimens, (2) The antimicrobial activity in vitro with an emphasis on inhibitory and bactericidal potency of various agents, and (3) Drug susceptibility testing including methodology and interpretation of the test results.

Newer Patents in Antimycobacterial Therapy

Pharmaceutical Patent Analyst, 2015
Tuberculosis caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis is a global health emergency. This deadly disease has far-reaching social and economic implications. Diseased individuals need prolonged polypharmacy which is not without ill effects. Treatment compliance is often compromised contributing to rising resistance.
