Antitubercular activity of quinolizidinyl/pyrrolizidinylalkyliminophenazines

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry, 2014
Novel riminophenazine derivatives, characterized by the presence of the basic and cumbersome quinolizidinylalkyl and pyrrolizidinylethyl moieties, have been synthesized and tested (Rema test) against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv and H37Ra, and six clinical isolates of Mycobacterium avium and Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

Antitubercular Ilamycins from Marine-Derived Streptomyces atratus SCSIO ZH16 ΔilaR.

Journal of Natural Products, 2020
Tuberculosis (TB) ranks as the leading cause of death from a single infectious agent (ranking more lethal than HIV/AIDS) over the course of the past decade. More concerning is that reports of multi-drug-resistant (MDR) and extensively drug-resistant (XDR)

Resistance to Antitubercular Drugs

1998
Historians established the existence of endemic tuberculosis from Egyptian mummies dating from 2000 to 4000 B.C. (reviewed by Bloom and Murray, 1992). Tuberculosis was prevalent in Europe throughout the middle ages. Newly crowned kings of England and France were believed to have special healing powers and the most desired treatment of tuberculosis was ...

Clinical Pharmacology of Antitubercular Drugs

Pediatric Clinics of North America, 1983
Isoniazid, rifampin, and ethambutol are the three major drugs used in the modern treatment of patients with tuberculosis. Data on these drugs in children have been derived primarily from their clinical use in pediatrics and extrapolation from experiences in adults. A number of questions remain concerning the clinical pharmacology and appropriate use of
