AOX y medio ambiente.

open access: yesBoletín Intexter del Instituto de Investigación Textil y de Cooperación Industrial, 1996
Halogenated organic compounds have found widespread used in industry and household, for that reason their presence in the environment have been controled since many years ago. Several detection techniques to know the presence of these compounds in the environment have been developed.

STAT5 activators modulate acyl CoA oxidase (AOX) expression in adipocytes and STAT5A binds to the AOX promoter in vitro

open access: yesBiochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2006
Growth hormone (GH) diminishes adipose tissue mass in vivo and prolactin (PRL) can also modulate adipocyte metabolism. Both GH and PRL are potent activators of STAT5 and exert a variety of effects on adipocyte gene expression. In this study, we have demonstrated that GH and PRL increase the mRNA of acyl CoA oxidase in 3T3-L1 adipocytes.

Effect of cell retention techniques in Komagataella phaffii lab‐scale continuous processes

open access: yesBiotechnology Progress, EarlyView.
Abstract Perfusion technologies play a growing role in the implementation of continuous processes for biotherapeutics production in mammalian‐based manufacturing. However, their application to alternative production hosts is limited. Cell retention systems are of key importance for the efficiency of perfusion bioreactors.

Combined effects of prohexadione‐calcium and growing environment on sweet cherry fruit quality and postharvest performance

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract BACKGROUND Sweet cherry (Prunus avium L.) is a high‐value fruit crop, but its commercial success is often limited by poor pigmentation, reduced firmness, and short shelf life. This study evaluated the effects of preharvest applications of prohexadione‐calcium (1.5 L ha−1) on fruit quality and storage performance in lowland and hilly orchards ...

Isolation and characterization of mutated alcohol oxidases from the yeast Hansenula polymorpha with decreased affinity toward substrates and their use as selective elements of an amperometric biosensor

open access: yesBMC Biotechnology, 2007
Background Accurate, rapid, and economic on-line analysis of ethanol is very desirable. However, available biosensors achieve saturation at very low ethanol concentrations and thus demand the time and labour consuming procedure of sample dilution ...

Comparison of the Kinetic Parameters of Alternative Oxidases From Trypanosoma brucei and Arabidopsis thaliana—A Tale of Two Cavities

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2021
The alternative oxidase (AOX) is widespread in plants, fungi, and some protozoa. While the general structure of the AOX remains consistent, its overall activity, sources of kinetic activation and their sensitivity to inhibitors varies between species. In

Sensitivity of Irish Pyrenopeziza brassicae populations to methyl benzimidazole carbamate (MBC), quinone outside inhibitor (QoI) and succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor (SDHI) fungicides

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
For three collections of Irish Pyrenopeziza brassicae populations fungicide sensitivity status to methyl benzimidazole carbamate (MBC), quinone outside inhibitor (QoI) and succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor (SDHI) fungicides was determined using sensitivity screening in vitro. Molecular mechanisms of insensitivity have been identified for MBC and QoI in

Alternative oxidase (AOX) constitutes a small family of proteins in Citrus clementina and Citrus sinensis L. Osb.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
The alternative oxidase (AOX) protein is present in plants, fungi, protozoa and some invertebrates. It is involved in the mitochondrial respiratory chain, providing an alternative route for the transport of electrons, leading to the reduction of oxygen ...

Advances in cholesterol and lipoproteins detection for healthcare: A review

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Cholesterol is one of the main biomarkers related to the development of cardiovascular diseases. Its detection still relies on traditional methods of analysis, such as gas and liquid chromatographies. Detection of free cholesterol in saliva with redox or enzymatic sensors or detection of lipoproteins in blood with aptamer sensors are currently the most

Transfer learning enhanced graph neural network for aldehyde oxidase metabolism prediction and its experimental application

open access: yesActa Pharmaceutica Sinica B
Aldehyde oxidase (AOX) is a molybdoenzyme that is primarily expressed in the liver and is involved in the metabolism of drugs and other xenobiotics. AOX-mediated metabolism can result in unexpected outcomes, such as the production of toxic metabolites ...
