APOE-e4 carriers vs. Non-Carriers group means and standard errors for stride length (cm) by task condition and sex.

open access: yes, 2016
Stride length was analyzed during single task (ST) and dual task (DT) conditions. Age, height, Short Physical Performance Battery, BMI and illness index scores were entered as covariates.

Molecular Dynamics‐Guided Sterol Engineering of mRNA‐Lipid Nanoparticles Reprograms Biodistribution and Enhances Spleen‐Selective Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sterol engineering enables precise control of mRNA lipid nanoparticles by tuning membrane organization. Replacing cholesterol with bile acid‐derived sterols redirects protein expression from the liver to the spleen. Notably, CA‐20 LNP enhances antigen‐specific immune responses while exhibiting a favorable safety profile, highlighting sterols as a ...

SPSB1 Promotes Subcutaneous Adipose Hyperplasia in Facial Port‐Wine Stains by Controlling HDAC1 Degradation and Stability Through Two Distinct Proteolytic Pathways

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In PWS‐ASPCs, FOSL1 drives the expression of SPSB1. SPSB1, as part of the ESC complex, further binds to HDAC1 and promotes K29‐linked and K48‐linked polyubiquitination of HDAC1. These modifications facilitate the degradation of HDAC1 through the ALP and UPS pathways, respectively.

Physiological expression of macrophage apoE in the artery wall reduces atherosclerosis in severely hyperlipidemic mice

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2002
We have previously reported that the introduction of macrophage apoE into mice lacking both apoE and the LDL receptor (apoE−/−/LDLR−/−) through bone marrow transplantation (apoE+/+/LDLR−/−→apoE−/−/LDLR−/−) produces progressive accumulation of apoE in ...

USP5 Stabilizes TGFBR1 to Drive Vascular Smooth Muscle Cell Senescence and Atherosclerosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that USP5 drives vascular smooth muscle cell senescence and atherosclerosis by stabilizing TGFBR1, suppressing IDH2, and promoting glycolytic reprogramming, identifying the USP5‐TGFBR1‐IDH2 axis as a potential therapeutic target. ABSTRACT Vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) senescence contributes importantly to atherosclerotic plaque ...

The APOE ε2 allele is associated with risk of neovascular age-related macular degeneration in a Russian cohort

open access: yesВавиловский журнал генетики и селекции
Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a progressive disease that leads to blindness and is the cause of visual impairment in an aging population. Apolipoprotein E (ApoE) is one of the key proteins in lipoprotein metabolism.

Apolipoprotein E isoforms and rare mutations: parallel reduction in binding to cells and to heparin reflects severity of associated type III hyperlipoproteinemia.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1995
The LDL receptor-independent binding of human apolipoprotein E isoforms and rare apoE mutations were studied on LDL receptor-deficient human fibroblasts using chemical cross-linking and cell binding studies.
