Predictive capability of Cys112Arg single nucleotide polymorphisms of the apolipoprotein E gene in assessing the risk of immediate and early post-traumatic seizures

open access: yesТерапевтический архив, 2023
This study is aimed at investigating epileptic seizures, one of the consequences of traumatic brain injury (TBI). Immediate and early post-traumatic seizures, as well as late post-traumatic epileptic seizures or post-traumatic epilepsy, can have ...

Antisense inhibition of apoB synthesis with mipomersen reduces plasma apoC-III and apoC-III-containing lipoproteins

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2012
Mipomersen, an antisense oligonucleotide that reduces hepatic production of apoB, has been shown in phase 2 studies to decrease plasma apoB, LDL cholesterol (LDL-C), and triglycerides.

Estimating the level of carbamoylated plasma non-high-density lipoproteins using infrared spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Background: The increased cardiovascular morbidity and mortality observed in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients can be partly explained by the presence of carbamoylated lipoproteins. Lipid profiles can be determined with infrared spectroscopy. In this

Apolipoprotein E-related glomerular disorders.

open access: yesKidney International, 2019
Of the glomerular disorders that occur due to apolipoprotein E (apoE) mutations, apoE2 homozygote glomerulopathy and lipoprotein glomerulopathy (LPG) have been characterized.

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Expression of apolipoprotein E by cultured vascular smooth muscle cells is controlled by growth state. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
Rat vascular smooth muscle cells (SMC) in culture synthesize and secrete a approximately 38,000-Mr protein doublet or triplet that, as previously described (Majack and Bornstein. 1984. J. Cell Biol.

PECAM‐1 directed re‐targeting of exogenous mRNA providing two orders of magnitude enhancement of vascular delivery and expression in lungs independent of apolipoprotein E‐mediated uptake

open access: yesJournal of Controlled Release, 2018
Systemic administration of lipid nanoparticle (LNP)‐encapsulated messenger RNA (mRNA) leads predominantly to hepatic uptake and expression. Here, we conjugated nucleoside‐modified mRNA‐LNPs with antibodies (Abs) specific to vascular cell adhesion ...

Reduced vascular leakage correlates with breast carcinoma T regulatory cell infiltration but not with metastatic propensity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.
