Protic Ionic Liquids in Contrast to Aprotic Analogs: Transport Properties and Electrochemical Reactivity

Bromination of Alkenes and Related Compounds by Use of Benzyltrimethylammonium Tribromide in Aprotic and Protic Solvents

The reaction of alkenes and related compounds (1) with benzyltrimethyl-ammonium tribromide (BTMA Br_3) in aprotic solvents such as dichloromethane and chloroform gave 1, 2-dibromo adducts in fairly good yields.
