Assessing the feasibility of exogenous 17β-estradiol for inducing sex change in white snook, C. viridis: From growth, resting and maturation studies

open access: yesAquaculture Reports, 2023
This study evaluated growth, survival, and oogenesis before and after 17β-estradiol (E2) treatments. During the growth period, C. viridis reached a total length of 65 ± 4.2 cm and a weight of 2.5 ± 0.66 kg BW.

Dietary protein regulates ovarian development through TOR pathway mediated protein metabolism in female Litopenaeus vannamei

open access: yesAquaculture Reports, 2023
The accumulation of nutrients in the gonads is closely related to reproductive capacity and quality of the larvae in the subsequent autotrophic stage of Pacific white shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei.

Short-term growth, movement and response of European eel Anguilla anguilla to re-meandering of a small English chalk stream

open access: yesKnowledge and Management of Aquatic Ecosystems
In recent decades, the population of European eel Anguilla anguilla has strongly declined and the stock is outside safe biological limits. Freshwater habitat degradation has been cited as a key causal factor in the European eel decline, but there are ...

Loss of one copy of vhl in zebrafish facilitates hypoxia tolerance

open access: yesAquaculture Reports, 2023
Insufficient oxygen in the water (hypoxia) is one of the limiting factors for high-density culture in modern aquaculture. Hypoxia tolerance in fish has been reported to be related to the hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)-α-mediated hypoxia signaling pathway.

Role of dietary isoleucine supplementation in facilitating growth performance and muscle growth in juvenile largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides)

open access: yesAquaculture Reports, 2023
To improve the breeding efficient of fish, it is crucial to provided essential nutrients based on the nutritional demands. Isoleucine is an essential amino acid, and it plays a significant role in growth and metabolism of largemouth bass. Therefore, this

EMG‐Driven Telemetry and Inference System for Fish: Pose Reconstruction and Flow Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This work introduces an electromyography (EMG)‐driven telemetry framework that reconstructs body pose and infers hydrodynamic conditions in freely swimming fish. A custom 16‐channel archival system records intramuscular EMG, enabling deep‐learning models to decode joint kinematics, classify flow regimes, and reveal channel‐efficient sensing strategies.
