Human aqueous humor exosomes [PDF]

open access: yesExperimental Eye Research, 2015
Aqueous humor (AH) is a dynamic intraocular fluid that supports the vitality of tissues that regulate intraocular pressure. We recently discovered that extracellular nanovesicles called exosomes are a major constituent of AH. Exosomes function in extracellular communication and contain proteins and small RNA.

Targeting Amastigote and Trypomastigote Phases: Multi‐Epitope Vaccine Strategy Against Trypanosoma cruzi

open access: yesBiotechnology and Applied Biochemistry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Effective vaccines against Trypanosoma cruzi, the causative agent of Chagas disease, are urgently needed. Here, we report the design and in silico validation of a novel multiepitope vaccine construct targeting the key surface proteins ASP‐2 and gp82. Using a comprehensive immunoinformatics pipeline, we identified and selected 38 potent T‐cell (

Improving the learning experience in an undergraduate course on microbial metabolism by using an illustrated story

open access: yesBiochemistry and Molecular Biology Education, Volume 53, Issue 2, Page 131-141, March/April 2025.
Abstract In the classroom, metabolism is often approached and received as a mundane exercise in memorization. Teaching metabolism also faces the challenge of negative perceptions that can impede learning. We sought to improve the learning experience in an undergraduate lecture course on microbial metabolism by implementing an illustrated story that ...

Differences between Aqueous Humor and Serum Concentrations of BDNF and PPARG Genetic Variants in Glaucoma Patients

open access: yesActa Clinica Croatica
Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) is essential for neuronal development, differentiation and survival, and aberrant BDNF expression in retina is associated with glaucoma.

Aqueous Humor Dynamics: A Review [PDF]

open access: yesThe Open Ophthalmology Journal, 2010
Glaucoma is a family of optic neuropathies which cause irreversible but potentially preventable vision loss. Vision loss in most forms of glaucoma is related to elevated IOP with subsequent injury to the optic nerve. Secretion of aqueous humor and regulation of its outflow are physiologically important processes for maintaining IOP in the normal range.
