The Condition for Aqueous–Organic Mixtures Not to Flash

open access: yesProcedia Engineering, 2014
The condition for a liquid mixture not to flash is important in some cases, such as some process operation of aqueous–organic mixtures, applicability assessment of elimination of fire and explosion hazard by water in emergency response of the leakage of ...

Interaction and activation in aqueous mixtures

Colloids and Surfaces, 1990
Abstract The properties of aqueous solutions are considered from the standpoint of solute-water and solute-solute interactions. In both cases, we stress the important role played by water-water interactions in aqueous solutions. Solute-solute interactions in dilute aqueous solutions are described using pairwise interaction parameters.

SPECTROPOLYARIMETRY OF AQUEOUS MIXTURES OF HYDROCARBONS

SCIENTIFIC AND PRODUCTION JOURNAL "BEEKEEPING OF UKRAINE", 2021

Oxidative transformation of phenols in aqueous mixtures

Water Research, 2003
The transformation by an oxidoreductase (a laccase from Rhus vernificera) of a mixture of four phenols (catechol, methylcatechol, m-tyrosol and hydroxytyrosol) that simulates a typical wastewater derived from an olive oil factory was investigated. Results achieved in this study confirm that laccase-mediated transformation of phenols depends on the ...

Structure of aqueous mixtures of lecithin and cholesterol

Journal of Molecular Biology, 1969
Abstract Mixtures containing varying proportions of lecithin, cholesterol and water have been systematically examined by X-ray diffraction in connexion with the established phase diagram of this ternary system. The dimensions of the mixed lipidic layers and that of the intercalated layers of water have thus been determined as a function of the ...

Mixtures of gangliosides and phosphatidylcholine in aqueous dispersions

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Biomembranes, 1972
The interaction of ox brain gangliosides and pure egg phosphatidylcholine has been studied by taking aqueous dispersions of the two lipids in all proportions and centrifugating the dispersion at 100 000 × g for half an hour and measuring the amount and composition of the pellet and supernatant.

Adsorption of an Aqueous Mixture of Surfactants on Silica

Langmuir, 2000
The behavior of mixtures of a nonionic surfactant, pentaethylene glycol monodecyl ether (C10E5), and an anionic surfactant, sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), was studied at the water−silica interface. In contrast to the C10E5 surfactant, which is adsorbed at the silica−water interface at pH ≅ 6, the adsorption of the anionic surfactant is not observed.

Concentration fluctuations and microheterogeneity in aqueous amide mixtures

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2009
The relationship between concentration fluctuations and the microheterogeneous status of aqueous amide mixtures is addressed through the molecular dynamics study of three different amides, namely, formamide, N-methylformamide, and dimethylformamide.

The photosensitized oxidation of mixture of parabens in aqueous solution

Environmental Science and Pollution Research, 2015
The work presents results of studies on the photosensitized oxidation of mixture of five parabens (methyl-, ethyl-, propyl-, n-butyl-, and benzylparaben) in aqueous solution. Aluminum phthalocyanine chloride tetrasulfonic acid and xenon lamp simulating solar radiation were used as a photosensitizer and a light source, respectively.
