The Fluidities of Non-Aqueous Mixtures
Journal of Rheology, 1932The paper of Bingham and Brown makes it desirable to study the data on the fluidities of non-aqueous mixtures which have recently become available in connection with the International Critical Tables, to determine first whether there is a correlation between the fluidity and volume (test 3). It should, moreover, be possible to determine the composition

Fibril Assemblies in Aqueous Whey Protein Mixtures
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2006Fibril formation in mixtures of whey proteins upon heating at pH 2 was investigated. Fibrils were found to coexist with other structures, such as spherulites. These spherulites consist of radially oriented fibrils. At total protein concentrations above 6 wt %, transparent gels were formed.

Interfacial tension in aqueous biopolymer–surfactant mixtures
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2008The current study offers a first insight into the interfacial properties of pullulan-sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) aqueous two-phase systems (ATPS) in the presence of sodium chloride (NaCl). The effect of composition on the interfacial tension (sigma) in these ATPS was investigated over a wide range of pullulan, SDS and NaCl concentrations. An increase

Modeling nonionic aqueous solutions: The acetone-water mixture
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2004Several combinations of existing classical water and acetone models are studied by molecular dynamic simulations in order to sort out which models can reproduce available experimental data: enthalpies, pressure, densities, diffusion coefficients, and Kirkwood–Buff integrals.

On the evaluation of the Kirkwood-Buff integrals of aqueous acetone mixtures
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2005The Kirkwood-Buff integrals of acetone-water mixtures are determined using two experimental techniques: small-angle neutron scattering and vapor pressure measurements, in order to test the precision and reliability that can be achieved. The data are then compared with those previously reported by different authors, which tend to show considerable ...

Mechanism of Pyrite Oxidation in Aqueous Mixtures
Journal of Environmental Quality, 1989AbstractThe rate of pyrite oxidation in aqueous mixtures was studied at 25 °C for periods up to 3 wk. Dissolved plus citrate‐dithionite‐extractable Fe was used to measure the extent of reaction. Pyriteoxidation rate was independent of time (zero order) in the presence of NaClO4, CaCO3, and NaHCO3.

Fluctuation and Microheterogeneity in Aqueous Mixtures
2012Fluctuations play an important role in statistical assemblies, the most known being that to critical fluctuations in phase transitions. Under certain circumstances, however, and for particular types of interactions, these fluctuations can materialize into "particles".

Microheterogeneity in aqueous mixtures
2007The microheterogeneity is related to the fact that associated liquids and mixtures are locally heterogeneous while being globally homogeneous. It is puzzling that liquids, which are in the equilibrium state and far from phase transitions exhibit local heterogeneity.

Intermolecular Potentials for Ammonia-Aqueous Mixture
The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2002The results of the second-order Moller−Plesset perturbation theory calculations with the aug-cc-pvTZ basis set for the NH3···H2O complex have been used to parametrize a set of atom−atom potentials. A simple nonpolarized and polarized ammonia−water potential is proposed.
