Gut Microbiota Dysbiosis: Pathogenesis, Diseases, Prevention, and Therapy

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 5, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Dysbiosis refers to the disruption of the gut microbiota balance and is the pathological basis of various diseases. The main pathogenic mechanisms include impaired intestinal mucosal barrier function, inflammation activation, immune dysregulation, and metabolic abnormalities.

Dysregulation of Astrocytic ATP/Adenosine Release in the Hippocampus Cause Cognitive and Affective Disorders: Molecular Mechanisms, Diagnosis, and Therapy

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 5, May 2025.
Reactive astrocytes release various molecules, which play a role in maintaining central nervous system (CNS) homeostasis. (1) Gliotransmitters, such as glutamate, γ‐aminobutyric acid (GABA), ATP, and D‐serine, are secreted by vesicular exocytosis. In addition, astrocytes can also release ATP and glutamate through (2) P2X7Rs, (3) connexin‐43 (Cx43 ...

Improving Bovine Embryo Development and Quality Using Bovine Oviductal Epithelial Cell‐Derived Conditioned Medium (bOEC‐CM)

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 3, May 2025.
The study investigated the effects of bOEC‐CM on bovine in vitro embryo development. CM from Day 3 enhances blastocyst rate and positively affects the ICM and TE in blastocysts and increases the expression of development‐specific genes. bOEC‐CM may serve as a superior supplement during the final five embryo culture days.

Recycling Agricultural Waste: Sustainable Solutions for Enhancing Livestock Nutrition

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 3, May 2025.
The increasing demand for sustainable agricultural practices prompts a reevaluation of feeding strategies in ruminant nutrition. Agricultural waste, often viewed as a by‐product, presents a promising opportunity to enhance the sustainability of livestock production systems.

Role of Inflammatory and Proresolving Mediators in Endothelial Dysfunction

open access: yesBasic &Clinical Pharmacology &Toxicology, Volume 136, Issue 5, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Excessive local inflammation is a common mechanism in many cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) such as hypertension, atherosclerosis and aortic aneurysms. In endothelial cells, inflammatory cytokines such as interferons, tumour necrosis factor alpha or interleukins increase oxidative stress and contractile prostanoids and the expression of adhesion
