In Situ Micromechanical Study of Bimodal γ′–γ″ Precipitate Assemblies in Ni–Cr–Al–Nb Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A Ni–Cr–Al–Nb superalloy with a bimodal γ′–γ″ precipitate distribution is developed. Composite precipitate assemblies form through heterogeneous nucleation, effectively impeding dislocation motion. Micropillar compression reveals high strength at room and elevated temperatures, governed by precipitate shearing, with coupled faulting mechanisms ...

Arc-analyticity and polynomial arcs [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Polonici Mathematici, 2004
The author gives an elegant proof that for subanalytic functions the three notions of arc-analyticity, local blow-analyticity and analyticity on restriction to polynomial arcs coincide. The paper is short and very well written.

Pantograph Arc’s Energy Characters Under Various Load

open access: yes机车电传动, 2011
Due to the increasing speed of the locomotive, the pantograph-catenary disconnection was getting worse, and the pantograph arc occured frequently. The pantograph arc etched the pantograph slider and contact wire, and the etching level was influenced by ...

The voltage threshold for arcing for solar cells in LEO: Flight and ground test results [PDF]

open access: yes
Ground and flight results of solar cell arcing in low Earth orbit (LEO) conditions are compared and interpreted. It is shown that an apparent voltage threshold for arcing may be produced by a strong power law dependence of arc rate on voltage, combined ...

Electrochemical Behavior of Flame‐Sprayed Sc‐Doped AlCoCrFeMo High‐Entropy Alloy Coatings in 3.5% Sodium Chloride Solution

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.

Transient Arcing Characteristics of the Pantograph–Catenary System in Electrical Sectioning Overlaps

open access: yesInfrastructures
Transient arcing often occurs as an electric locomotive traverses an electrical sectioning overlap (ESO), deteriorating current collection stability and reducing the durability of the pantograph–catenary (PC) system.

Encyclopedia of 2D β′‐In2Se3 Growth Using Chemical Vapor Deposition: The Effects of Synthesis Parameters Onto Material Quality

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A distinct semi‐confined inner‐tube chemical vapor deposition geometry enables reproducible, large‐area growth of phase‐pure 2D β′‐In2Se3 from InI + Se precursors. Engineering local vapor transport and optimizing precursor delivery and temperature–time conditions yield uniform continuous films.

Symplectification of Circular Arcs and Arc Splines

open access: yesCoRR
In this article, circular arcs are considered both individually and as elements of a piecewise circular curve. The endpoint parameterization proves to be quite advantageous here. The perspective of symplectic geometry provides new vectorial relationships for the circular arc.

Hyperfocused Arcs

open access: yesBulletin of the Belgian Mathematical Society - Simon Stevin, 2006
An arc in a projective plane whose secants meet some exterior line in the minimum number of points is said to be hyperfocused on that line. Such arcs are related to geometrically based secret sharing schemes. A \(k\)-arc \(\mathcal{K}\) is sharply focused on a line \(\ell\) which is external to \(\mathcal{K}\) if the \({k\choose2}\) secants of ...

Pre-Arcing Time Prediction in a Making Test for a 420 kV 63 kA High-Speed Earthing Switch

open access: yesEnergies, 2017
A high-speed earthing switch (HSES) of a gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) performs a secondary role in protecting the power system in the event of an accident.
